There are games which die faster, some die more slowly, but nearly every game performs merges in between. Especially when the game was hyped in the beginning, which lead to the high amount of servers. It was obvious that these servers won't be necessary after a short time. You're doing prognoses based on other games, while I could list you an equal amount of games which didn't die after merges. If it would be so easy to tell the future of a game based on its current state, you probably should think about a career in digital entrepreneurship. But I guess this applies to most players, since everybody behaves like they know what's best for a game. I would like to hold you up on that. Give me the names.. but also.. give me the measures done to stop the bleeding.. because I highly doubt that "after a merge" all was fine and dandy .. because if it was.. a merge would have not been needed. So, share it with us, or else your argument is null. Also.. is it that hard to see the future in a digital playground ? Not really, since you don't change a staff for an organization that will just ignore, yes the future is easy to predict.. also the community is easy to predict as well, were people that feel ignored and were the community gets the vibe of "p2w" like it did for the past month when better things come, they migrate... opinion ? future ? I think it's just common sense witch you should have... after all.. you came from another game as well. I know I did... CS.. Mu.. L2 .. Aion.. L2 again.. Aion again... BNS .. Mu Legend... Arma3... BNS again.... were gamers, we try to balance work, family, social life... if a game wont be able to provide what we need, you are doomed to quit at one point... as long as the game provides you on what you need you will stay for as long as possible.. but if it wont.. something better will pull you out.. like Black Desert did to this game.... Mu Legend is coming out.. were I have a feeling this game will take a hit yet again.. maybe not a big one... but a hit. So.. the future is easy to read .. but with your own words.. hard to predict as it will be.. but there is that chance were facts add up . huh ? MassiveEgo
@AlkaaI think you're severely underestimating the intelligence of the average MMO player. When you have a game where everybody and their dog does dungeons in f8 cause it has the least amount of lag (they're obviously using a much more robust hardware to host the f8) and devs announce a server merge, it won't take all that many brain cells to figure out that literally nothing will change when it comes to player numbers. It'll be easier to organise like this, but a merge under the given circumstances smells a lot like them just freeing a bunch of server racks for something else cause they're no longer profitable. I mean what good is a server that costs say 2k/month to run if the revenue that comes back from the 250 active players doesn't cover the target? There's no profit in it. Hence the merge. Don't forget that this is business. There's literally nothing in it for us. And this is if we assume that different servers actually need a separate rack, which I highly doubt. I notice they don't really advertise their game and this is why they lose more players than what they gain. It's because of Lyn. Having a bunch of children in revealing outfits running around is a massive legal issue to the point I'm surprised the game hasn't been shut down already. I'm guessing you haven't seen the outfits available for Elins in Tera lmao blade and soul outfits for lyns are nothing compared to theirs. They even have lingerie yet steam is still advertising the game.
