What even is matchmaking

Just bad luck. The guy wouldn't gain any rating from you anyway so he'd keep being  matched vs u cuz he was still too low rating

Came back to the game after a year and a half absent

Made a new sin cause thunderstruck is my favorite skill in the game

Started off my 1300 mmr at lv 33 and got paired up against the same lv50 HM9 destroyer 6 times in a row (I know level itself doesn't matter but jeez, experience)

I'm just barely wrapping my head around the stuff that isnt stealth rmbf but this guy knew every little thing he was doing

Is this like an arena rating exploit or something

Probably a mult of experienced player or that player simply didn't play the arena for some time. Matchmaking is mostly about rating and very little about level. Also there are little to none low lvl characters in the arena so the chance to meet them is quite low.
