On a new PC and my characters are gone?

Hello,

I was playing B&S back in December or so, but my hard drive died on my computer and I no longer had a way to play the game. Though, I got a new PC and I downloaded the game and logged in, I had to enter a new pin number and when I got past that screen I found that my characters were gone.

Why did this happen?
