How do you keep enemies focused on your Familiar?

I would be fighting and first I send my cat then I attack them but then the enemies would turn their attention to me and I'd get away with 50% HP and my cat would have like 95 hp. I know she has like tons more HP then I do so maybe she doesn't take that much damage but it's like everytime I face an enemy if they are not rooted they come for me and completely ignore my cat. I mean she's scratching them and hitting them with a giant hammer she is the one they are supposed to be fighting!

 

I am also kind of new so is there any skills that I haven't found out yet that would keep enemies on my cat?

Put 3 points into your Q(Crouching Tiger) and whenever you throw your cat at a mob, press Q and it'll taunt that mob for 8 seconds while healing the cat as it takes damage.
