Why isn't there a Tanking/Healer design

The game has no holy trinity. Everything aside from DPS is considered as party utility.

However, as dungeon difficulty is going up, I start to see the game having its own very loose version of trinity: tanker, buffer/debuffer and healer. All of them can DPS, of course.

-Tanker: KFM and BM, since they have threat skills and spamable block/counter. While other classes can tank too, they need very well-geared in order to out DPS every other party members in order to maintain threat, cuz they have no threat-skill. Summoner can only be considered as off-tanker, since their forced taunt with cat is not consistent, and have a hard time to position the boss and keep boss in place.

-Buffer/Debuffer: KFM, Sin and WL as buffers. They have very outstanding DPS buff that can save you 1-3 minutes off enrage timer, thus mechanic skipping. BD and Des are debuffers with restraint skills, but their function is not available everywhere like buffers, cuz many bosses are not grabable.

-Healer: Sum and SF. They are not mandatory, but very nice to have for average party to tackle contents, especially raid. Their healing is not to keep the party alive in constant basis cuz they don't have burst heal, but to make the content becomes more forgiving to minor mistakes. Their healing role becomes pale, however, in an extremely-high DPS party where you can just forgo healing and go all out DPS. Luckily, both of these classes are considered as high tier of DPS, so they are still welcomed.

Naryu Foundry is a dungeon where you can see people returning to the trinity. People always want a BM/KFM tank here, or they will leave, unless you say you will tank with your FM/WL/Sin with your whale gear. You want to have one or two WL/Sin/KFM, since the last boss is a DPS race. Due to the environmental DoT, you might feel more safe with one or two Sum/SF.

In harder raid like Spire, you will always see one to three BMs/KFMs as tanker. Every party should get a SF/Sum as healer. And of course, let not forget our deal buffers WL/Sin.
