Problems with the new weapon upgrade

I salvaged my weapon early in act one, because i was told to, and I got a Golden Deva weapon. But now I'm in act two, and I still haven't got a new weapon, and I can't upgrade my golden deva weapon, so I tried salvaging it, which was a big mistake, because it didn't give me a new weapon. So my question is, how do I get a new and better weapon? I'm lvl 23 now. In the old system I got a new weapon fairly often?

Right now I have a blight weapon and I'm afraid to salvage it, because what if I don't have a weapon then?

You're no longer supposed to salvage weapons.

 

After the latest upgrade, everyone with the old Hongmoon weapon (or upgraded version) got a prompt to salvage it to switch to the new setup. This is why you got your Golden Deva replacement when you salvaged that one.

You won't get your upgrade-able weapon until act 4. Until then you'll have to do with drops.

 

So yeah, salavaging Deva was a mistake.

Ok...someone tell me straight about what's going on with weapon upgrading.  Right now, I have my stage 10 "Awakened Infernal Bangle," and it has reached its evolution limit.  Soooo...when do I get my next weapon that I can upgrade?  Also, why the change?
