How much do Hongmoon levels matter in dungeons?

I was wondering if Hongmoon levels play a vital part in dungeons and raids. Let's say someone was HM 6 but they had 650 AP, would you let them into ebondrake or maybe even Naryu Foundry? Is it bad to focus mainly on gear/stats than on HM levels?

  1. HM Level and AP dont matters, if the player doesnt know the mechanics and cannot play his class properly. But for PUG-runs i would run with this guy, idk for NF, haven't tried it yet.

NF easy with 650ap and HM levels matter since you get more skillpoints hence dps increase. A player with good rotation is required rather than gear casher in foundry. Our BD 650ap deals about 25-30k dps which is more than enough for foundry. I had ppl dealing 14k with more gear in foundry np.

Higher HM lvl doesn't matter, unless you have HM skills avalible.

HM lvl increase the amount of skills points you have, AP, and defense... so if you have extra skill points but nothing interesting to spend, it makes no diference. Some classes doesn't have anything good to spend after HM6 if you don't have HM skills.

Also, something no one asks (thank god) is ping, cuz people with lower ping DO more damage per second.

Thou as said, some dungeons requires more experience than gear/skillpoints.

HM level matters in F8 (dungeon finder) due to the following things mostly already listed:

1. Skill points for HM skills

2. Additional AP that comes from HM levels

3. HM level indicates "possible" knowledge/experience of dungeons & boss mechanics

4. Low HM levels may also be gold farmers, or credit card warriors giving minimum effort, but outbidding everyone for important drop items

5. Low HM levels also mean sub 650 - 700ap which mean people will need to know boss mechanics instead of the entire team just DPSing the boss down before any boss mechanics can happen

All of these things cause high HM level players in F8 to treat low HM level players like cancer. However low HM level doesn't prevent anyone from actually doing the content. I had a HM3 with 550ap as an alt. This is perfectly acceptable for doing Sogun's Lament if you know the dungeon and know each boss mechanic (and bring dungeon antidotes for Asura). However, it would take hours to get a group to accept my HM3 into a Sogun Lament run, even though I had full Sogun Lament Soul Shield set, and all accessories. In fact, I was more capable than a fair share of the 650+ ap players that never skill tree'd for stun / kd, or brought any dungeon antidotes.

However, it IS F8 so no one knows each other, no one knows what you know / are capable of, so of course there will be players unsure or unwilling to take low HM level players when a High HM level + Attach Power player means that if they don't know the dungeon, at least they can help reach a DPS level that bypasses the boss mechanics they might have no idea how to do anyways.

HM lvl is basically just an indicator on how long/actively the guy played on that character . However,it doesn't mean the guy is inexperienced cause ya know ; alts. If you see a hm 6-7 guy with legendaries,it gets pretty obvious.

People like to associate HM levels with knowledge which kind of sucks for certain vet players.  I get kicked and bumped just because I'm HM5, but you'll have to deal with it for a while.  Usually around HM 8, you're safe to join a majority of parties without being criticized.

But you really want HM levels because of skill points especially when you start having your HM skills unlocked.

for me i will let the hm6 enter the party since too many fake hm10+ here...like hm10 with 400ap+

Same. I actually met a whale in DT (900AP+) and have 0 knowledge of mech (he was HM12). That run was much more horrific than the run I had before that with HM10-11 and around 600-650AP...

HM lvl gives not only more points to open those hm skills we all love but more HP/def and shows overall a bit more experience in the game, but it will matter the most on the upcoming patch, were the higher the hm lvl is the more points for AP/elem. dmg/HP you will get out from it.

Hm points do matter now, since you get 5 points per level to spend on your character, and you decide on wich stats you want those points, 10 hm points for AD gives you 20+ att power and 20 points another +40 ( if i remember correctly)
