Didn't get hongmoon weapon early in game

[Soul Gem Rage]

Started playing a bit ago, took a break, came back. Most of the characters get the purple hongmoon weapon, but for some characters..it isn't giving it as the quest reward. (I got the other items though.)

 

Can anyone help me find out what's going on?

Till entering silverfrost fields, you neither won't get a upgradable weapon nor accessoires. Everytime you have to switch to a better one:

They should probably remove the quest "Positive Reinforcement". That was confusing. Do I assume we just use the green/blue quality weapons that drop from questing and dungeons then until we get our upgradeable weapons later on?

Dont know, why this quest exist even now, but your correct.

Correct, but i recommend you to farm the lv 20 (blight), 36 (infernal), and lv 45 (siren/pirate) weapons (all purple).
