Overview:

  • All "Tiers" have been merged together into one Stage.
    • Skill points have been removed; the full benefits of a skill are now granted on learning them via player character levels (effectively closes the gap between a HM Level 1 and HM Level 15 player).
    • Hongmoon Skills still need to be learned; effects are automatically applied onto the skill when learned.
  • Skills normally learned through previous tiers (e.g. Protection Decoy) are separated from the skill and given by default.
  • A new energy resource, Hongmoon Energy, was added. A full bar (10,000 points) is needed to activate Ultimate skills which are learned at level 55.

 

Mist Slash (LMB):

  • Stage 1/Type 1:
    •  New effect: Heals 5% of damage inflicted
    • (Lightning Build only) Hongmoon: Readies Dark Strike on critical hit -> Decreases the cooldown of Shadow Drain by 1 sec on critical hit
  • Stage 2/Type 2:
    • Hongmoon: Readies Venom Pierce on critical hit -> on hit

 

Spinal Tap (LMB):

  • Removed Stage 1 (30 second cooldown double stun) and Stage 3 (damage)
  • New effect: Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy
  • Stage 2/Type 1:
    • New effect: Applies joint attack (stun) 2 times
    • New effect: Stacks 1 poison on hit
    • Area: 2x3 meter linear -> Target

 

Volley (LMB):

  • New effect: Generates 218 Hongmoon Energy

 

Highwire (LMB):

  • New effect: Generates 218 Hongmoon Energy

 

Lightning Stride (RMB):

  • Removed Stage 1 Tier 1 (poison refresh)

 

Heart Stab (RMB):

  • Stage 1/Type 1:
    • New effect: Generates 182 Hongmoon Energy to enemies inflicted by stun, daze

    •  Element: Flame -> Shadow in Shadow Build; Lightning in Lightning Build
    • New effect: Inflicts 6 sec 20% movement speed reduction; Movement speed decrease stacks up to 3 times

 

Awakened Heart Stab (RMB):

  • Removed Awakened Dark Strike/Lightning Pierce
  • 12.00 Shadow/Lightning modifier
  • 0 focus cost
  • Generates 1 focus on critical hit
  • Readies Dark Strike on hit
  • Instant Cast
  • Maintains Stealth
  • Generates 182 Hongmoon Energy to enemies inflicted by stun, daze
  • Bombard becomes Awakened Heart Stab under Soulburn

 

Venom Pierce (RMB):

  • Split from Heart Stab (usable with Bombard)
  • Removed effect: Cannot be used on enemies inflicted by 5 stacks of poison (for Soul Badges)
  • Cooldown: 8 sec -> 10 sec
  • Removed precondition: On critical hit with Lightning Crash, Lightning Pierce

 

Guard Break (RMB):

  • New effect: Generates 218 Hongmoon Energy

 

Hook Kick (Tab):

  • Inflicts 1 -> 2 stacks of poison on hit to enemies inflicted by poison
  • Cooldown: 12 sec -> 10 sec

 

Webbing (Tab):

  • Removed Stage 1 (Stomp) and Stage 2 (Flash Kick)
  • New effect: Generates 200 Hongmoon Energy

 

Turning Leaf (Tab):

  • New effect: Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy

 

Sweeping Gale (Tab):

    • New effect: Deals 1.00 lightning damage; Does not deal damage when used at the enemy's back (breaks Webbing on the front)
    • New effect: Penetrates defense, deflect
    • (Lightning Build only) Range: 5~16m -> 0~16m

 

Cyclone Sweep (1):

  • Removed Base (Unconscious Cyclone Sweep) and Stage 2 (Shadow Rush)
  • Stage 1 Tier 1/Type 1 (Knockdown) and Stage 1 Tier 2/Type 2 (Daze):
    • Range: 4m -> From User
    • Area: Target -> 5 meter arc
    • Cooldown: 24 sec -> 18 sec
    • New effect: Inflicts 1 stack of poison
    • New effect: Generates 127 Hongmoon Energy
    • Removed effect: Cannot be used as a joint attack
  • Stage 3/Type 3 (Shadow Drain):
    • New effect: Inflicts 1 stack of poison

 

Doubletime (1):

  • New effect: Generates 12 Hongmoon Energy
  • (Shadow Build only) Removed effect: Enter stealth for 6 sec while in stealth stance
  • (Lightning Build only) Enter stealth for 6 sec while in stealth stance -> Enter stealth for 6 sec

 

Decoy (2):

  • New effect: User resists damage and status effects for 1 sec on counter (Stage 1 HM Decoy is still 2 sec)
  • Stage 2/Type 2:
    • Deals 20% -> 40% focus damage on counter
    • Cooldown: 12 sec -> 8 sec
    • Hongmoon: Inflicts 2 sec blindness, deafness on counter -> Refreshes the cooldown of Turning Leaf on counter

 

Protection Decoy (2):

  • Split from Stage 1 Decoy (usable with Stage 2 Decoy)

 

Time Bomb (2):

  • Stage 1 Tier 1 (Unjointed Daze) merged with Base (Poison Refresh)
  • Removed Stage 1 Tier 2 (Unjointed Knockdown)

 

Shadow Slash (3):

  • Removed Stage 1 (high damage single target) and Stage 4 (3 sec cooldown)
  • Stage 2/Type 1 Shadow (Linear Damage):
    • Only available in Shadow Build
    • Deals 5.50 -> 7.50 shadow damage
    • Deals 6.50 -> 7.50 additional shadow damage to enemies inflicted by knockdown, grapple
    • Removed effect: Additional 1 use on critical hit
    • Area: 2x3 meter linear -> 2x8 meter linear
  • Stage 4/Type 3 (Venom Slash):
    • Now a default skill instead of needing to be proc'd, and no longer requires Hongmoon Skill to learn.
    • Focus: 0 -> 1 Cost
    • Hongmoon: Cooldown: 12 sec -> 10 sec
  • New Type 1 Lightning: Focus Regen
    • Only available in Lightning Build; replaces Linear Damage
    • Inflicts 7.50 lightning damage
    • Focus: 2 Cost
    • Enter stealth for 6 sec
    • Generates 6 focus on entering stealth
    • Range: 3 meter
    • Area: Target
    • Cooldown: 18 sec
    • Hongmoon: Decreases the cooldown of Shadow Drain by 6 sec

 

Poison Breath (4):

  • Removed Stage 4 (Plaguemist)
  • Stage 2/Type 3 (Venom Swarm):
    • New effect: Generates 218 Hongmoon Energy

 

Lightning Rod (4):

  • Stage 2/Type 1 Shadow (Focus) is only available in Shadow build; Stage 3/Type 1 Lightning (Damage) is only available in Lightning build
  • Stage 3/Type 1 Lightning (Damage):
    • New effect: Stacks 1 bleed on hit
    • New effect: Heals 5% of damage inflicted
  • Stage 1/Type 2 (Stun):
    • Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy

Landmine (Z):

  • Element: Flame -> Shadow in Shadow Build; Lightning in Lightning Build

    • Inflicts 8 sec -> 6 sec 30% movement speed reduction
    • New effect: Applies joint attack (knockdown) 2 times
    • New effect: Inflicts 6 sec charge skill disable
    • New effect: Inflicts 2 stacks of poison
    •  Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec daze to enemies inflicted by poison
    • Removed effect: Launches enemies inflicted by stun, daze into the air
    • Focus: 3 Cost -> 2 Cost
    • Area: 3 meter radius -> 5 meter radius
  • Stage 3/Type 3 (Mine Toss):
    • Airborne Mine merged into Poison Mine Toss; Deals 7.20 -> 7.50 additional shadow/lightning damage to enemies inflicted by airborne

 

Shuriken (X):

  • Stage 1/Type 1 (Shuriken):
    • Removed effect: Readies Shadowslip on critical hit

 

Throwing Dagger/Sneak Attack (X):

  • Throwing Dagger:
    • Inflicts 15 sec -> 6 sec Wind Rush (reduced Sneak Attack queue duration)
  • Sneak Attack:
    • New effect: Inflicts 6 sec 60% movement speed reduction
    • New effect: Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy
    • Removed Stage 2 (7 Focus Generation)

 

Lotus Fury (C):

  • Stage 2/Type 2 (Lotus Kick):
    • Range: 4m -> 16m
    • New effect: Inflicts 2 sec stun
    • Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec stun on hitting the enemy's back
    • Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec stun on hit to enemies inflicted by poison

 

Lotus of Escape (V):

  • Removed Stage 2 (Lotus of Poison)
  • Stage 1/Type 1 (Lotus of Escape):
    • Stage 1 Tier 3-5 (Corpse Pull) merged with Stage 1 Tier 1 (Second Escape)
    • Removed effect: Increases Lotus of Escape duration by 10 sec (from previous Tier 4)
    • Effect moved out of Hongmoon: Reduces meditation time by 6 sec
    • Hongmoon: Generates 3 -> 10 focus on using Escape Call

 

Shadow Dance (Q):

  • Range: 3m -> 8m
  • Removed Stage 2 (Sidestep Left)

 

Shunpo (E):

  • Level learned: 46 -> 12
  • New effect: User resists damage and status effects for 0.5 sec after use
  • Cooldown: 24 sec -> 16 sec
  • Removed effect: Readies Lightning Stride on Resist
  • Removed Stage 2/3 (Sidestep Right)

 

New Ultimate Skill: Night Raid (G)

  • Enter stealth for 15 sec
  • Clean Kill available for 15 sec
  • User resists damage and status effects 1 time for 3 sec
  • Range: From User
  • Area: Target
  • Cast Time: None
  • Cooldown: None
  • Stance Change: Stealth Stance
  • Preconditions: Max Hongmoon Energy

 

New Ultimate Skill: Clean Kill (G)

  • Deals shadow damage in Shadow Build; deals lightning damage in Lightning Build
  • Deals 102.00 shadow/lightning damage over 3 hits
  • Deals 45.00 additional shadow/lightning damage to enemies inflicted by stun, daze, knockdown 
  • Can be used 1 more time on kill
  • Penetrates defense, deflect
  • Range: From User
  • Area: 2x5 meter linear
  • Cast Time: None
  • Cooldown: None
  • Stance Change: Decoy Stance
  • Preconditions: After using Night Raid

TL;DR

  • Bombard/Landmine deals Shadow/Lightning damage instead of Flame
  • 9 sec CD 2x Stun
  • 2x Knockdown moved from Swiftstep to Landmine
  • Tons more ways to stack poison + Venom Slash no longer requires proc or HM skill
  • New and easier ways to enter stealth
  • PvP buffs and nerfs all around
    • Stage 2 Daze Decoy now viable (Buff)
    • 16 meter range Swiftstep + Lotus Kick (Buff)
    • 10 Focus Regen on HM Lotus of Escape (Buff)
    • Sneak Attack queue duration reduced by 60% (Nerf)
    • Daze Landmine removed (Nerf)
  • Awakened Heart Stab

Are those Ultimate skills useable in pvp? Having a choice between 15 sec stealth + presumeably huge burst damage move, or 5 times (??) 18m range shunpo-ish skill midgame. Ähem...

 

Pvp buffs

- Lmb Stacks poison again (with 5 poisons you actually deal insane amounts of damage with your anicancel + 5 stacks stride so it matters)

- Hook kick stacks 2 poisons and 12>10 sek cd

- Swiftstep range buff is gonna be really good especially against fms (mostly but really anything) to tab switch tech chase into 2f also you can 2f bms c daze in flock stance much more relieably

- Shadow dash inflicts 1 poison (though the range buff appearently wont work in pvp, but if it somehow does its gonna be insane as well)

- Lotus kick buff is insane

- flower slight buff as it fills up your chi bar completely, witch (might) matter

- shunpo buff is pretty big +0.5 sek iframe and 24>16 sec cd

- 1 daze will stack poison and gets aoe (witch is nice against summs)

- slight timebomb buff, now the dazebomb refreshes poison

 

- daze woodblock is not gonna be that good still, probably gonna be used in like sin mirror and might be used against like destro (maybe even bd cause tab swap reset is really good), but most classes have some kind of scary penta slash + immunities. And from them hitting into your woodblock you pretty much always either start a combo savely of the 2 sek iframe, or bait some of your enemies big cooldowns, like hm block. Either way its really bad for them to hit into the 2 sek iframe block, so the risk of getting screwed over by not having it is just not worth taking imo.

 

Pvp nerfs

- Lmb AOE stun removed. It was really good against sums, but other than that it does not matter

- Throwing dagger, actually a pretty sizeable nerf as it always made classes like sf turn around and spam q and then you could just tab swap, or 1 dash them. A 6 seconds window makes it a lot more manageable for other classes.

- slight nerf to q as we no longer have the option to go for the 3m one, witch i sometimes used against pretty much destros exclusively, because it lets you spam q when they are like 5m in front of you without qing around them instantly and it also seems to have a faster annimation, so if you q>ss/e you wont get knocked out of stealth instantly again as lickely.

- Removed Base (Unconscious Cyclone Sweep) and Stage 2 (Shadow Rush) slight nerf, shadow rush was merely a tech option that you (could) possibly use if you felt like it against kfms and maybe bms. The unconscious cyclone sweep was nice against spin classes as a more safe / inescapeable combo starter, but kd works too if youre not half asleep.

 

Neutral

- Wether landmine is a buff or a nerf imo remains to be seen the range buff is really good, also its gonna disable charges, witch makes it more viable against des/bd. Also it will inflict 2 stacks of poison, witch makes it an insane opener from no poison stacks, if you can manage to deal with the 3 options you enemy has on the ground. I mean just think about it, if you bomb them from 0 poison stacks and they panic f roll, you can tech chase with tab swap 1 charge (+1 stack) > x dagger (+1) > 1 daze(+1) and youre on 5 poison stacks from pretty much nothing. Im not 100% sure how much damage that is, but i think you can actually kill some classes in just the about 6 seconds anicanceling you get from 1 daze + 2f + x daze + ss stride into knockup and just finish the aircombo (on 5 poison stacks).

 

Btw did you count the poison buffs?

Landmine +2

1 dash +1

hoock kick +1

1 daze +1

lmb +1

timebomb refresh on 5 stacks possible

Thats gonna be a sizeable damage buff in pvp in itself.

 

(Lightning Build only) Cooldown: 18 sec -> 30 sec

This does not apply i assume since we are presumeably not gonna be using lighting build.

How are the elemental builds going to work? When you choose one are all your skills converted to that element?

 

I'm worried because Light>Dark in PVE dps but light is barely used in PVP. But, if these changes mean i can use lightning heart stab while in decoy stance for my pvp rotations, well, damn :))))) Best of both worlds?

From what i´ve see they mostly differ in lightning rod and f trees.

Dark build gives you a choice between drark strike and close shave and a choice between an 18 seconds stun lightning rod, or a 12 seconds cd high damage chi regen one.

Lighting gives you a choice between lightning pierce and close shave and a choice betwee the 6seconds lighting rod and a 30 seconds stun one.

With shadow build shadow dash will have 5-16m range, with light build it´s 0-16m range.

Lightning crash will still be available until you learn lightning pierce, witch replaces it just like now.

 

Heartstab being lightning or shadow really does not matter you do shadow damage while out of stealth and lightning in stealth and in both cases you have a 4.5 damage mod. So really who cares. I don´t know what you mean with lightning heart stab in decoy stance (i mean i know that decoy stance is out of stealth, but it´s just not relevant). It does not matter what kind of damage it does except your gear somehow boosts one of the two, witch does not apply to arena.

    • Deals 6.50 -> 7.50 additional shadow damage to enemies inflicted by knockdown, grapple
    • Removed effect: Additional 1 use on critical hit
    • Area: 2x3 meter linear -> 2x8 meter linear
  • Stage 4/Type 3 (Venom Slash):
    • Now a default skill instead of needing to be proc'd, and no longer requires Hongmoon Skill to learn.
    • Focus: 0 -> 1 Cost
    • Hongmoon: Cooldown: 12 sec -> 10 sec
  • New Type 1 Lightning: Focus Regen
    • Only available in Lightning Build; replaces Linear Damage
    • Inflicts 7.50 lightning damage
    • Focus: 2 Cost
    • Enter stealth for 6 sec
    • Generates 6 focus on entering stealth

    • Cooldown: 18 sec
    • Hongmoon: Decreases the cooldown of Shadow Drain by 6 sec

    • New effect: Generates 218 Hongmoon Energy

 

Lightning Rod (4):

  • Stage 2/Type 1 Shadow (Focus) is only available in Shadow build; Stage 3/Type 1 Lightning (Damage) is only available in Lightning build
  • Stage 3/Type 1 Lightning (Damage):
    • New effect: Stacks 1 bleed on hit
    • New effect: Heals 5% of damage inflicted
  • Stage 1/Type 2 (Stun):
    • Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy
    • (Lightning Build only) Cooldown: 18 sec -> 30 sec

 

Landmine (Z):

  • Element: Flame -> Shadow in Shadow Build; Lightning in Lightning Build
  • Stage 1/Type 1 (Landmine):
    • Inflicts 8 sec -> 6 sec 30% movement speed reduction
    • New effect: Applies joint attack (knockdown) 2 times
    • New effect: Inflicts 6 sec charge skill disable
    • New effect: Inflicts 2 stacks of poison
    •  Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec daze to enemies inflicted by poison
    • Removed effect: Launches enemies inflicted by stun, daze into the air
    • Focus: 3 Cost -> 2 Cost
    • Area: 3 meter radius -> 5 meter radius
  • Stage 3/Type 3 (Mine Toss):
    • Airborne Mine merged into Poison Mine Toss; Deals 7.20 -> 7.50 additional shadow/lightning damage to enemies inflicted by airborne

 

Shuriken (X):

  • Stage 1/Type 1 (Shuriken):
    • Removed effect: Readies Shadowslip on critical hit

 

Throwing Dagger/Sneak Attack (X):

  • Throwing Dagger:
    • Inflicts 15 sec -> 6 sec Wind Rush (reduced Sneak Attack queue duration)
  • Sneak Attack:
    • New effect: Inflicts 6 sec 60% movement speed reduction
    • New effect: Generates 146 Hongmoon Energy
    • Removed Stage 2 (7 Focus Generation)

 

Lotus Fury (C):

  • Stage 2/Type 2 (Lotus Kick):
    • Range: 4m -> 16m
    • New effect: Inflicts 2 sec stun
    • Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec stun on hitting the enemy's back
    • Removed effect: Inflicts 3 sec stun on hit to enemies inflicted by poison

 

Lotus of Escape (V):

  • Removed Stage 2 (Lotus of Poison)
  • Stage 1/Type 1 (Lotus of Escape):
    • Stage 1 Tier 3-5 (Corpse Pull) merged with Stage 1 Tier 1 (Second Escape)
    • Removed effect: Increases Lotus of Escape duration by 10 sec (from previous Tier 4)
    • Effect moved out of Hongmoon: Reduces meditation time by 6 sec
    • Hongmoon: Generates 3 -> 10 focus on using Escape Call

 

Shadow Dance (Q):

  • Range: 3m -> 8m
  • Removed Stage 2 (Sidestep Left)

 

Shunpo (E):

  • Level learned: 46 -> 12
  • New effect: User resists damage and status effects for 0.5 sec after use
  • Cooldown: 24 sec -> 16 sec
  • Removed effect: Readies Lightning Stride on Resist
  • Removed Stage 2/3 (Sidestep Right)

 

New Ultimate Skill: Night Raid (G)

  • Enter stealth for 15 sec
  • Clean Kill available for 15 sec
  • User resists damage and status effects 1 time for 3 sec

  • Stance Change: Stealth Stance
  • Preconditions: Max Hongmoon Energy

 

New Ultimate Skill: Clean Kill (G)

  • Deals shadow damage in Shadow Build; deals lightning damage in Lightning Build
  • Deals 102.00 shadow/lightning damage over 3 hits
  • Deals 45.00 additional shadow/lightning damage to enemies inflicted by stun, daze, knockdown 
  • Can be used 1 more time on kill
  • Penetrates defense, deflect
  • Range: From User
  • Area: 2x5 meter linear
  • Cast Time: None
  • Cooldown: None
  • Stance Change: Decoy Stance
  • Preconditions: After using Night Raid

 

New Ultimate Skill: Shadowstep (B)

  • Move forward 16m
  • Can be used up to 5 times
  • User resists damage and status effects
  • Removes charge skill disable

TL;DR

  • Bombard/Landmine deals Shadow/Lightning damage instead of Flame
  • 9 sec CD 2x Stun
  • 2x Knockdown moved from Swiftstep to Landmine
  • Tons more ways to stack poison + Venom Slash no longer requires proc or HM skill
  • New and easier ways to enter stealth
  • PvP buffs and nerfs all around
    • Stage 2 Daze Decoy now viable (Buff)
    • 16 meter range Swiftstep + Lotus Kick (Buff)
    • 10 Focus Regen on HM Lotus of Escape (Buff)
    • Sneak Attack queue duration reduced by 60% (Nerf)
    • Daze Landmine removed (Nerf)
  • Awakened Heart Stab
