Getting frustrated with act 4 chapter 36

I'm stuck on the impostor emperor boss fight as a 49 FM because there is no avoiding the damage from the grab (even if the initial grab is dodged you still take the followup damage for no reason regardless of range). And the boss can just chain those grabs faster than my dodge cooldowns anyway. Is this fight just a stupid damage race and I need to go grind further upgrades? Nothing else about this boss is hard, just taking as far as I can tell unavoidable damage is stupid.

Some bosses in game such as Scorpion Queen, Imposter Emperor, Pyre Lord,... will attempt to grab you as long as you stay far from them, try to stand near enough they won't grab you anymore, also improve your HP or defense to withstand their melee attacks.

You don't stand far away and not expect the boss to fight back with anti-ranged abilities. Stand within 8 meters. Worried about melee attacks? Don't, just strafe and it'll never hit you.

You got to 49 as a FM without being aware that you need to stay close to some mobs? O_o

From my experience the story battles are all extremely easy and no matter how bad i played i never had problems killing everything.

If you are seriously struggling with these mobs you must be extremely undergeared.
