Sometimes the heat crack appears and he hasn't even done his jump. O-O Why the hell does this happen.

Like, when summoners root the yeti when we have hypothermia buff and I'd be internally going " oh no, we're *cricket*ed" and then the heat crack appears on his ass. and I'm like... "ok then"

It doesn't really matter since most groups are over geared now and just power thru him without using any mechanics.
