Jinsoyu
This is my first MMO after a long break since years ago, been anticipating this game since 2009 and finally got to play recently due to commitments. Been playing for the past week and got up to 47 now and wanted to share some personal experiences. 1 ) In certain maps there are actually more bots than legit players. Good thing is that they only occupy a certain channel and the other is usually clear to do my own farming. 2) As a new player, I struggled to upgrade my equipments and do my quests because some of those requires me to kill world bosses/dungeons a lot of times but there are very little people doing the same things as me. 3) Upgrade items like moonwater stones and soulstones are so expensive for a new player. 4) There are so many things in BnS that can be done, following the storyline(so k-dramatic), side quests, faction quests, arena pvp, mushin's tower, seriously... 5) Alot of things can only be done effeciently at maxed level, As a FM, I die countless times a day due to lack of aoe in dungeons, only one worth mentioning is Meteor, the rest do little damage. (Partly because I'm not from the US and have higher ping.) 6) A very high % of players are already maxed out with very high HM lvls, resulting in point 2. I can understand this as this game is almost 6 months old (beta in oct 2015?) But seeing so few players around me as I level means there is something wrong here and I'm playing in the newest server. 7) The above point can be supported by the long waiting time for lower level dungeons even though it's supposed to be crossed-server matching and point 2. 8) Some high lvl players are very sporting while some are just ass-holes. They rush to complete dungeons without waiting since they can just solo the whole thing. Others brag and hog items even though there are multiple items and they already got it once but still overbid others who need it just because they are rich and saying stuffs like 5g is like a drop in the ocean for me dont waste my time overbidding etc and then rushing to do dailies for his 5 other lvl50 HM9 characters... Of course there are lots of nice ones who escort lower levels and make sure they don't die in maps such as black ram supply when they skip mobs, (the area before slashimi) etc and wait before killing bosses etc so others don't get killed by the flames after they start. Some are also sporting enough to kill and res (without killing me again) in faction wars. 9) I can deal with most of the stuffs given that I'm still playing the game but point no.3 is really tedious. Though moonwater transformation stones and soul stones are supposedly rare and hard to get, i stil see heaps of them selling in the auction house, such as soulstones in stacks of 100s with so many pages.. sometimes i even wonder if they are being sold by legit players or what... Sorry for the long rant, feel free to enlighten me on any of the points that I have a wrong impression of or what lol.
JoannaRamira
well. 1,2,3 are a concern here. you might see several threads discussing them already. and yeah you clearly noticed the "rushing" behavior when some high lvls decided to go all MLG and leave low lvls to their agony... either murdered by mobs or grilled alive in stupid firewall. If you in Master Hong.. add me :3 and i will show you several nice people with great "no one left behind mentality" and these people including me won't rage quit even after got wiped off by boss. About SS.. people are farming SS in Soul Stone Plains now. it's a legit source for high number of SS.. but also come with difficulties range dfrom technicals like lagfest and skill delay. Plus possible threat of ganking from opposition faction. Misty wood, beach outpost and Tomb of exiles are other source of SS. Anyway i think you would have little problem in farming SSP unlike me who play destro and with 250ms of ping.. can't really evade unbound terror's AOE x-x
Jinsoyu
Are u in the newest server too? Anyways i just reached plog sanctum and apparently i have to kill 3 bosses as a daily quest or what and there's not a single soul around me, even in channel 1, gg,
Shadzar
It doesnt matter which server you are on, they are all like this as many new players are quitting because they cannot do anything as you described. This game is not made for new players. The moment Silverfrost area opened, all over areas became dead. The fact you have to buy new characters means many people would rather quit than pay money to play a new character and still get stuck in the same spot. IT is just a poorly designed and thought out game after Silverfrost release which makes the devs and players not care about anything before Silverfrost. The best you can do if have some rel life friends join you, if any will play this game, and go through the whole game with them so yo are not alone. Jinsoyu
Ah i see, I just reached the silverfrost area but i still don't see many players around me, maybe due to different time zones? (Again, not from the U.S) But i think your second point is more relevant, maybe ppl are quitting. It was quite shocking to see that because I thought there were 2million players playing or so on an advert. I know of people in game who are stuck at infernal series weapon because RNG is being a *cricket* and they can't kill profane jiangshi enough to get the essence because there are barely anyone else farming with them. Its quite disheartening to see that because they're already overleveled for that series (almost 49). Real life friends actually prefer other games though haha, thanks anyway. Trix
You probably don't want to hear this but my advice would be to reroll on Mushin or Poharan if you're in NA, not sure which are the most populated in EU. Server Transfers are not an option yet and you haven't gotten to the point where you're too invested to change. Mushin is quite populated even in the US offtimes so perhaps you could make a character on Mushin and see if you like it better. It would also be a very good idea to shop around for an active clan that is willing to help you run all the dungeons you need for your daily challenges, teach you the mechanics of new dungeons and help you get geared up. Some of the higher level dungeons can be rather difficult if you don't know what you should be doing in them. Good luck and hope you have fun in the endgame stuff ^^

AuraTG
EXACTLY like Trix said, omg Mushin is so good. I was on "new" servers at one point and im glad I left. I dont know if its an indication of population here, but i typically see it go up to six active channels with ppl switching channels to be able to do world boss without waiting for the respawn timer. Sometimes we switch and there is no boss because its already been camped lol. The only dungeon I "needed to do" and could not solo (when i was that level) so far was Blackram Narrows, but I am an assassin which maybe is one of the top 2 solo classes? idk. I was able to solo a bunch of content but my room for error was pretty minimal. Gold Deva still can one shot me for example, but i seem to kill it 3x faster than most people can alone (gotta love fighting spirit). Only thing about Mushin is that Cerulean Order is where the party is, Crimson chat was pretty silent when I was on that side. Cerulean chat is typically overflowing with ppl saying what channel and what boss they are doing, but typically those are calls for the 16man endgame bosses i think. I never had to wait long for a blackram queue, and a few times we did have a high level player fly through but i noticed they just kill all the mini-bosses while we just mop up the basic npcs and overall its pretty fast. I think maybe if it was only 1-2 of us left behind it could be troublesome but this has never happened to me. Mushin also has a great economy going, I put stuff for sale and its sold instantly sometimes lol.

I have to thank you for this last part. I did not know that Soulstones were sold on the market. I did not know how to obtain them without going into PvP which would be a disaster for me since I have massive lag spikes with an average ping at or above 300ms. I was able to obtain what I needed to upgrade my jewelry to siren level now. Sadly, this is the only way for me to progress. At least the perfume is available through dungeons and other ways to get them for upgrading. Phew, this system is on convoluted way of doing things. Archess
7 hours ago, Jinsoyu said: 3) Upgrade items like moonwater stones and soulstones are so expensive for a new player. They used to be really expensive at launch and are really allot easier to get now if you just concentrate on getting to level 50, at the time we hit 45, they were around 12-16 gold each and we made around 3-4 gold per day from our dailies, so to get 1 we required 4-5 days to buy one. If you get to level 50, just the silverfrost dailies net you 4-5 gold for 8 quick quests, so just doing those for 20 mins per day almost gets you pretty much 1 per day as opposed to our 4 days per Transformation stone. For your soulstones, do the Misty pvp quests everyday, except the 10 kills, takes 15 minutes for 14 soulstones on a lvl 46 char with 352 ap, so you should be good. Downside is you can't do most of the dailies on Silverfrost because you lack the DPS to actually do your 1% damage. They should go back to giving one away on the survey and make it account bound so people can't abuse it.

There is a entire slew of 8-12 dailies you can do that give 65 silver ish each on completion.
SongNhi
Yeah just do the kill x number of mobs, and pug the blue dungeons should still net you a good amount of gold. You dont need to worry about the 1% boss quests till later, cos theyu're a lagfest and you need really good gear anyway which you'll get there eventually if you're patient enough. But silverfrost is ok for running normal blue dailies for gold, and you can then once outlevelled the harder bosses in moonwater area, you can go back and farm/kill what you need to do.
