Summoner's double stun and beckon?

Hi guys. I would just like some clarification on how the cats double stun works. It seems like there are some cases where it will only stun once and I want to know what can cause those situations. I feel like summoners aren't too viable to stun the yeti at the heat phase because half CC's are from cat so when I'm tanking, sometimes cat can get knocked out or double stun goes once (but no one else will cc him to initiate big jump) :( I also need clarification on beckons short iframe time, when does it start and end? is it only iframing when cat is in the air and when he is about to return to my side, the iframe is already over? Also, party dandelion is only one iframe, correct? Another question, but maybe no one can answer, but do cats taunt ruin BM and kfms DPS even if they are not trying g to tank (not using that threat increase skill). Thanks. Sorry  questions are not separated, I can't seem to do that on my phone. O.o

Double lunge and the normal lunge is on tab, so if you spam the button you might cancel double lunge and used lunge instead, hence getting 1 stun instead of 2. You can instead spec thorn strike to daze and use with hammer strike giving you double daze, it's sort of more reliable way to do it. But because majority of our cc is on cat and in Yeti our cat tends to get kd a lot unless you use taunt or beckon it near you when Yeti jump, summoner is not the best class to do the CC. They can do it of course just not the best.

As for beckon iframe, I am not too sure either, I still could not get the timing right most of the time for it.

Dandelion is a 1s party resist if you spec to enhanced seed shroud. Resist works like iframe, you can save other players that got frozen by using 4>F when Yeti does slam, they will still resist the damage even when frozen.

If KFM/BM is not tanking I would say dgaf about them and continue using your cat to tank, if they are tanking then yes you should not taunt unless of course if they are really bad at it.

  • Using TAB too early or pressing any other cat skills while midcast can cancel the 2nd stun.
  • Our best CC is actually C + 2.
  • Beckon's iframe starts as soon as you wave the cat tail, not sure when it ends though(prolly before the cat shows up),
  • Party Dandelion is 1 hit iframe yes.
  • You practically answered your question about BMs and KFMs. They're focused on DPS-ing and not tanking, unless you keep on making Yeti move with your taunts.

Smn is one of the best for ccing yeti. You have c+2 with cooldown of only 18 sec. You can even cc yeti twice between heat phazes. The only thing you should do is care about your cat not being knocked down. 2 ways of doing it:

- Tount with q right before jump, then tab it once to get closer to boss after it jumps.

- Just SS once right before boss lands down. SS gives your cat 2 secs of total immunity. Pet will auto follew the boss having immunity to damage and knock down.

Even if someone else is tanking and there is no need to evade, i just ss right to the direction of boss landing on tank, so my cat gains immunity+ i am getting closer for daze with 2. Use 2+c and the party is fine.

  • 2 weeks later...

I usually ignore the cat getting KD'd by the boss, except when he jumps to the middle at 90%, 70% and 50% to suck the heat out of the players.
Use Hammer spin to recover from the KD (I ignore it at other times to always have it ready for this), SS the suck-in myself and use Q to taunt the boss. The boss will try to grab your cat, which is now immune to all forms of CC, including grabs. the Angler yeti will then jump on your cat, which is still immune to CC's due to taunt. the cat is now under the boss and not CC'd, press C + 2 for double daze and get ready for 4+F to save teammates from dmg/allow them to just deal max dmg
