Taywong Server- Absolutley 0 PVP available. Bring Lineage II PVP system back!!

My first NCsoft game was Lineage II which had nearly a perfect PVP system. Castle Seiges which were very competitive and gave amazing rewards to clans happened frequently. Select competitive farming areas create hot zones for interesting clan conflicts. You can kill anyone practically anywhere and vise versa. But if you are killed when your not flagged for PVP (asking for it) the Karma system creates valuable rewards for Friends quickly coming to avenge your death.

Blade & Soul i have played for a while now and I've been trying to pick fights with people in open world areas since i FIRST had an opportunity . I have found less then 10 fights in months. Is this suppose to change in future patches?

I farm the important Faction areas every day and for 2 weeks i have not seen 1 person from the enemy faction. All channels are PACKED with my faction but never 1 enemy yet the population indicator shows "even". How is this possible?

13 YEARS from the release of Lineage II we have traded competitive Clan wars, and balanced large scale battles offering huge rewards for a giant PVE event called Open world PVP. Why remove content that was so successful previous games released?

Somehow Reviving  the Lineage 2 PVP system and finding ways to mirror the Risk Vs Reward for murdering people is the best shot at Blade and Soul reaching its full potential.

I know  the Lineage II VETS reading this will agree with me but are encourage to share their thoughts regardless.

I wouldn;t want the Lineage system but there does need to be much more tangible rewards for faction pvp (the pvp part) and more importantly, those rewards need to encourage faction balance not this joke steamrolling where one faction has 80% of the active players.

Lineage 2 had the best PvP system because it had no factions. Factions ruin PvP. Also there isn't a necessity in BNS for strong guilds, so there won't be sides (let's say there is a strong guild crimson side and one cerulean side). Open world PvP is just routine PvE with the occasional bot or hacking scummoner encounter.

I`m playing in this server and I can confirm this, is very unbalanced, I'm playing Crimson side, our side can't do SSP (there is no players), I'm having fun because I can get the machinegun and I kill someone, but sometimes it's really annoying, everybody from Ceru doing dailys and we doing nothing ...

About Mist Woods, everytime that I go there, just to do daily, If I kill someone, seconds later there are 20 Ceru to trying to kill me..

I'm really thinking about to move to Ceru, I don't like this idea, I really would like both factions doing pvp, but there is no point to fight alone with a whole faction ,it's not a good deal for me and clan mates.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sadly, I don't think the L2 PvP system can work in BnS. For one, there are factions.

Being able to attack your faction mates at any time can course soooo much grief. Simple example: a party of 600+ players is doing SSP dailies and they decide that there are too many faction mates around. Oh wait, why not make em....you know....less. Especially when it is time for grindtooth.

If there is one system from from L2 that I would love to see on BnS that would be the alliance system. Being able to form an alliance with clans of similar goals/game perspective would make finding reliable groups for running any kind of content a lot easier. Especially for casual players/clans.

The lineage 2 PVP system was perfect. PVE people could stay out of PVP if they chose too, and still take part in 95% of the game (Except major "world" raid bosses). Sadly, too much of B&S's PVP game design revolves around factions to ever become like Lineage 2.

The major flaw in the faction PVP model is that it has no way to balance the two factions on each server equally with PVP oriented players. On virtually every server one faction dominates in PVP oriented players, making the other faction miserable. There may be comparable numbers of players in each faction on a server, so it appears "balanced", but that is only on a superficial level of player numbers. It ignores whether or not the players prefer to participate actively in PVP or PVE.

PVP oriented players gravitate toward one faction or the other, because they like winning in PVP. More PVP oriented players in one faction means that there will always to be a PVP zerg in that faction. This makes winning assured 99% of the time (or losing 99% of the time for the PVE-ish faction).

Stuck in the PVE dominated faction on your server, but you like to PVP or want to benefit from the daily quest rewards or PVP boss drops? Well too bad for you chump.

also prefer PVE  and stuck in the smaller faction on the server you get idiots thinking like the ones posting on the forum "you wanted to PVP that is why you put on your faction outfit". No, I wanted to progress in weapon or gear upgrades that are for some stupid reason or the moronic game designers forced behind PVP BS. So you are screwed there as well.

Another reason they need PVE and PVP servers, so that people will be on a server with their chosen style, and those not wanting PVP can avoid it and fight the NPCs and mobs in the game, and those wanting PVP know everyone else does too so they can bash each others brains out while avoiding the speed hacking bots.
