new faction drop

so have done this quests several times and still cant wrap my mind. It´s suposed that if you do a 1% of the boss life you get drop, but for expample to the king grindtooth i did over 90k dmg and he has less than 8 million hp wich means i did more that 1% but he didnt drop. does anyone why this thing happens, it happened several times in several bosses and i can undestand why. (i have quest, i have faction uniform equiped and i counted the dmg and i didnt die or even get close to it)

Did the reset in the meantime? Did you completely stop attacking after you did 90k?
