Soulstone plains 50p drum buff - what does it do?

Hello. I've been trying to find a related topic everywhere on the internet, but I seem to have no luck. I just cannot understand what 'resist frighten' is and what it makes you immune to.

Till today, I thought that it makes you immune to the evolved monster roar that takes away 90% of your hp, but I just got hit by it, so it isn't that. 

Anyone managed to figure it out? 

I'd appreciate some light being shed here. Cheers!
