What determines a cat's statistics?

Does anyone know how a summoner's pet gets its attributes?  Does a pet have a direct % of what the summoner has? If a summoner is more defensive, is the cat more defensive too? When the "summoner" raises his crit, does the cats crit go up too or is it based on something else?

 

I guess I'm asking what determines the cats stats... like can we make the cat more of a tank and the summoner more DPS or visa versa?

just try builds out, press "P" on your keyboard to view character stats to see which one is best

there are no builds, only the alley/house cat option... House cat is tankmode and alley cat is offensive.

 

and yes the cat stats are determined by it's owner, I just don't know what the hard data and calculations are like.
