Unbound Elites in Soulstone Plains need nerfing.

This is supposed to be a pvp zone and all I see are:

 

1. People hugging these mobs knowing they cant be killed ('Cuz agoring one of these things = pretty much instant death. Even if you stealth and run away they just pull you back in.)

2. Players of certain classes grabbing players and tossing them into these mobs. (Which results in again in pretty much guaranteed death)

 

Now I assume that these players (the ones doing the throwing) are getting credit for the "bosses" (they call them elites but lets be honest with 27 million hp its a boss) ones shotting players they have tagged, and this is completely wrong. I understand the concept of base guards protecting players but these mobs at soul stone planes are just completely ridiculous.

 

I think we should just give all classes a grab, at least then everyone is equally capable of this shitty tactic.

 

Or alternatively how about if they grab you and pull you in and you escape make it so they cant pull you back in for at least another 10 seconds, not that instant recast bs they have before you can even pop another shield.

I agree, some nerfing to the amount how often they can do that grab-n-pull would be good since heck, it's not like people are spending time to kill them with or without them constantly spamming that shitty move or that they're not exactly really doing any good in protecting the faction base since the players can just go around for easy time anyway.. I don't remember how many times I've logged in luckily in my non-faction outfit at the top of the biggest base tent's roof only to have the whole group of Crimsons killing away at the Elder in there as well. Protecting the base, pfft. They might as well not exist there to begin with really.

Everyone seems to be forgetting they're called EVOLVED/UNBOUND. They are meant to be difficult. Insert normal Terror mobs and they will just get massacred as easy as the Hoglin Captains, and people will just complain that the content is too easy.

 

Go practice on Vermillion/Sapphire Terrors, they just as fast but a lot weaker. Or get 101 prestige and get the Evolved Defense buff.

I think they're fine the way they are.  As Shadovvv mentioned, they are evolved and are meant to be difficult.  As for people tossing you towards them, spec grab escapes when you're doing ssp so it'll be more difficult for someone to throw you at one and don't go near opposing faction's side while fighting mobs.

I wonder how people are supposed to do the regional warfare quest if they're supposed to avoid the opposite side.

The Misty Woods Ogres aren't even in the same league. They don't have a spammable pull. It's comparing apples to elephants.

 

People won't even bother with the unbounds even if they were weak, since there's nothing rewarding about killing them. Do you see people killing the Bonemasks/Pig Commanders (not the ones that spawn during mining) that idle around SSP? People don't even bother with the 473K HP gunslingers that escort the Captains while attacking the drills.

Easy, wait for them to walk towards the center before capture or during mining phase then attack.  But that's not what I was referring to, I'm talking about the mobs that raid the drill.  Just don't have your back turned towards the opposite side while fighting because you'll most likely get grabbed or attacked by the opposing faction (if they're there).

My biggest issue with the terrors aren't so much that they're there, they can kill you while mining if you get too close, blah blah... My biggest issue is what the OP pointed out, which is that it effectively kills a lot of owPVP simply because as soon as you start whaling on that person from the enemy faction trying to grief during mining, they just wimp-mode right over to their terror and you can't do anything about it. It largely removes any element of risk in owPVP, unless you engage directly in the middle or something. They're a security blanket for griefers, and not much else. +1 for removing the ones closest to the center entirely (don't think anyone would argue about leaving them closer to the bases - don't want a repeat of Misty Woods base camp faction NPC slaughter all over again).

something dose need to be done about them. AS op said people use them as their personal security force, if the pvp is going wrong they bounce back into agro range and you are pretty much screwed. Also the quest that requires you to kill elite and sentinals is near impossible at times because of them. Yes you can wait in the center for them to spawn but then you are competeing with other players for them and the 4 don't have a fast rewspawn.. so to get the 8 required will take a long time.

 

They actually serve zero purpose as everyone has already figured out a way to get into the others camp via the side for that 20 ss boss. All they do is kill the pvp, protect the bots which now use them as a mob shield and hinder certain quests.

I just hate the way that they can be deliberately agro'd into a group by evil BD/sums/dest who have natural defenses against them but then they dont stay going after that person and randomly grab others who are generating agro in the area (that random person nearly always being me).  Then of course they cancel your skills so if you don't have ss available at that second you are dead.  Even if you do they will follow/chain spam you anyway and you never did anything to draw their attention.  It really is annoying but I doubt NCWest will do anything about it as the dastardly way they work is probably WAI.

Speaking as a summoner our defense does not last long at all and if we can't get away fast enough they will chase you clear into the other territory and constantly pull you back. See shroud also doesn't work and they see through that.

Its that you can always toss your kitteh at it while you run away to give you the few seconds needed for the ogre to pick a new target that is generating more agro near it.  I suppose a WL can use thrall and have the same effect but I haven't seen any trolling WL while I have seen a ridiculous number of sum/bd trolls.  It may be that the Lyn race is just more prone to pranks and other devious behaviors.

That only works if kitty is alive.. trust me i taunt the minute I get out of the first pull and bolt but either the terror doesn't agro the cat or kills it so damn fast I can't get out of the range fast enough.

Yeah only class that i ever saw running away alive from terror was FM and its mostly coz they got 3x dash and that ice thing.

TBH i hate those mobs but ssp was intended as guild vs guild pvp maps unfortunatelly that map faild at it horribly so we have this boring pve grind and random gankers who are bored got nothing to lose so they annoy other people.

 

Apparently you can lower dmg from their aoes if you have that buff but this hardly helps you when your rank and gear is garbage not to mention you need perstige to get that buff in first place.

Nerfing them would be nice but how to balance out rest of that content then.
