Chat box will not go away!!!

I had managed to get rid of the chat box, things like this give me a migraine, some thing on the screen that I am not using in unwanted and is ruining the game.

Transparency was working fine, now I am stuck with it. this is so bad its stopping me from playing as I am just fighting with the Transparency slide to try and keep it to 100% when all it dose is drop back to 0%. Please please please sort this out, because I will have stop playing, and i do not want to stop playing I think this game is great but it is being destroyed by the dirtiest HUD I have ever come across, This is a shame because its in one of the best games around. :(
