Binggodude
Hey I don't know if this was posted before but seriously how doe the Market tax work? I was selling Moonwater quarts that i mined after 5 hours of sitting there and clicking the F button and finally selling my quarts. So i list them for 10x a batch for 70s each and they tax me a total of 20? or 21s for tax. I paid that money but when my item sells and i collect my money from mail.. i don't get my 7G i get only 6g 79s or 6g80s. Meaning they TOOK ANOTHER 20S from me. Am I doing my math wrong or is that a bug i really don't know. I got pictures of selling my premium refineries but i can't seem to upload them. Can SOMEONE explain to me WHY they took another extra tax off of me? P.S.: They said that my net profit was the 6g 80s but in truth it is 6g and 60s because i paid 20s for putting it up and then they took another 20s for selling it. Yndril
The tax percentage vary depending on quantity, i think it is about 10% up to 10 items in stack, not sure about the exact value, higher quantities (at certain thresholds) increase the percentage. The percentage is depending on your sales price and if i recall correctly, you don't pay when you put it up. If the item goes unsold, you have to pay the tax to get it back from mail, and if it is sold, the fee is retracted from the profit.

Teiji
You get charged immediately for the listing fee. Then you pay a tax if your item sells.
Aimo
Older thread about market fees. There are a couple fees you are charged when you post on the market. Posting Fee: When you post the item you pay this. Based off of the price of your item and has an increasing fee depending on the size of your stack. This is discounted if you have premium (varies by rank). Some items have an additional fee if you post it for the other time options (more than 6hr). Sales Commission: If your item sells you pay a 3% fee on the price of your sale. (By pay, I mean the 3% is deducted from your sale so you receive less.) Daily Commission: If you exceed a certain amount of gold income from the market per day (people seem to say 100g) you are charged a 1% fee. I haven't tested it enough to see if this 1% changes if you exceed higher amounts.
Nutrient
You don't have to use the market place. Could just spam and advertise to find buyers for you to trade with directly... Marketplace is just for convenience.
Lunakitty
The money you pay before registering the item is the registration fee. After that comes the selling tax. Not sure if you ever noticed that there are two different gold/silver/copper numbers after the information of how much gold you will get. That way you can count how much gold you can get in total. If you don't want to pay the price of placing items in market and paying tax then you should sell them outside the market.
HeiHua
Think about this, if the game would not have such ways to "waste money", prices would be increased due to the inflation on the market and overflow of the gold, making them inadequate to the amount of money begginers are getting from the missions and etc. And the benefits from selling stuff would be the same anyway.
