Recommended Posts

Greetings,

In order to prevent unintended file formats uploaded to the character profile system, the image uploader feature has been suspended and images with the incorrect formats will be deleted.

The character profile image feature will undergo changes to its system, we will be sure to share more details about this new system when they are available.

If at all during your adventures in Blade & Soul you discover an inappropriate image within a player’s character profile, please submit a ticket to Customer Support and they will be able to take the look into the issue further: https://support.bladeandsoul.com/hc/en-us

We appreciate your patience while we make these changes,

Team Blade & Soul

This was a really tough decision to make because we are huge fans of the art that players create for our game and we loved the creativity.

Unfortunately, this change was deemed necessary because images that were being uploaded were going past simply being inappropriate and were actually illegal and/or malicious. In this case, we had to make this decision to protect our players and ourselves (the files are hosted on our servers).

The reason this change took so long to implement is that the development team had to create an additional system to verify the images being uploaded through the client and onto our servers.

We realized this change would be a blow to the amazing artists that enjoy our game so we have been working with the Community team to provide additional ways to showcase their work. We recently held an art showcase livestream and we will continue have them as well as incorporate submissions regularly into our livestreams. We also have some really exciting announcements coming over the next few months that we hope will provide players with additional opportunities to feature their art and creations.

Overall, I just want to stress that we do not take these kinds of decisions lightly and both the publishing and development teams take the time to explore solutions, weigh options, analyze the impact on players, etc. and this goes for all decisions that affect the game. Thanks for your continued support and patience.
