Profane to Max Pirate Cost

Just did the math, it will cost about 700g just for upgrade cost and materials assuming you are buying from AH at current price.  That is not including refining cost of stage 1 - 10.  Yikes, I can't make it to True Pirate before 50 patch guys unless it is like 2-3 months away.  Causal player.

I certainly don't get any enjoyment out of watching my resources go back down to zero over and over again as I do upgrades. It was one of the things that I most disliked in Guild Wars 2 as well.

Some Math for the ones interested, most is from Trans stones and soulstones.  I saved and saved playing from 1-45 pretty consistently and I only have 130g so far.  This is not possible for me.

All i can say as long as you don't plan to play the game in a week time frame then you don't need to worry about getting max weapon :P

I am pretty casual as well, so I am not really pressing too much, since there will always be a grind to get the best gear.  I will just slowly save up, since I can still do the the content I want to just fine with the profane weapon.

Im a casual player myself also. Upgraded my bangle to True Profane stage 10 and Pirate bracelet stage 10 couple days ago. So im probably gonna leave it at that. Im not worried about upgrading it further when 50 cap comes. Just riding along and enjoying the game.

This is why I've already stopped playing the game, the current patch offers nothing worth needing to gear up for, apart from perhaps finishing mushin 7th much easyier, I'm at the last profane upgrade before going to the next and all my accesories are still infernal, I refuse to go into this games boring and broken CC infested imbalanced pvp via Arena and the pvp dailys are no better for it.

 

The developers really dropped the ball with forced PvP progression, I don't care how many people say you can technically PvE for it, or just play the market, when I play a game I don't play it to "play the market" and I certainly don't play it to grind gold, I would much rather play it knowing that I'm getting my materials as I've always prefered to farm my gear on any game I play without just finding the most effective way to grind gold, as all it's turned the game for me is into  "Daily and Soul", doing bhs and poh 24man, the 4 blue dungeons, the 2 purples and then if I can really be bothered to keep grinding a blue dungeon for the extra 20 silver per run then I will, but mostly I won't because it's damn boring.

 

So thanks developers for creating a game as completely empty as Tera, It's gave me a reason to do more productive things with my time rather than do the exact same thing I did yesturday, and the day before that, and the day before that...

Question because i just want to be sure. If i get to awakened pirate (currently true siren maxed) does that mean i stay on the awakened pirate -> true pirate path then from true pirate to true breeze/gale? just kinda confused on this x.x

I think it's a good thing we can't just hoard everything. If they made it easy eventually we would just be sitting on stacks of Soulstones and thousands of gold that we can spend on the next content patch then complain that we've upgraded already and there's nothing to do.

I don't get it, where did you get these numbers?, I am at True siren stage 5 right now and it doesn't cost 11gold to breakthrough and neither does it cost 30 perfumes, the total amount would be much lower with the correct information.

I don't want to hoard everything. I just don't want to be back on zero after every upgrade. One, with the currency exchange there are other things to do with my gold, and two, I don't really feel accomplished when I log in after a week of grinding--and it is pure grind--and have no gold or mats to show for it. Again, it's exactly what annoyed me most on GW2 when crafting ascended gear, burning up every resource you had to make it.

 

I prefer systems like SWTOR where there's some credit cost while doing upgrades but it's mostly token exchanges per piece with weekly lockouts. Of course at the time SWTOR had a bigger range of daily areas to gain currency and overall a bigger range of operations to do for end game content. Eventually with their push to level 60 it just got tiresome having to grind out so many alts and at this point the prospect of grinding out gold and mats for even one more character is just mind numbing. Likely what I'll do is start crafting MW Trans daily and just let the gold trickle in over time while I level and delete alts.

 

GW2 was bad because gold was the standard, Vindictus was worse, and in terms of me having my fill this game has taken the cake.

But how much does it cost if you take out the cost of soulstones? You can get like 20 a day from dailies and a gold rank soulstone pouch from the zen bean merchant will give you 30 IIRC.

I think you messed up on "Trans Stones"

Siren = 4, True = 7, Pirate = 7, True = 10.

Those extra numbers (Siren +5 = 4, True +5 = 10, Pirate +5 = 7, True +5 = 10), you were probably thinking of the Moonwater Refining Stones which can't be traded so value = 0 for all of them. Total gold should be 168g LESS than what you have listed.

What some of you forget is with 50 content you will get a skip from true profane to the lvl 46 wep.

 

You won't need true siren and pirate.  It will just need a bit more mats that's it.

 

On a side note:

 

Anyone who would buy all mats is not wise. I farmed enough poharan oils naryu silvers etc.

Someone already posted the mats needed for that. It's far cheaper both gold and time wise to hit True Pirate before that update than to wait.

thats why we have all the gold farm bots.

too much gold needed + few ways to get money in game = many many bots and goldsellers spamming the chat.

a design flaw from the root and now they won't get rid of their self made bot problem.

I have an Awakened Siren +10 and some things more (Blade Master) and not only Im able to do the Tower of Mushin everything at the first try now, but Im also able to Solo Bosses in E.Chain and Bloodshade Harbor 20+. Bloodshade Harbor and E.Chain Dungeon are also really easy for me now, so I don't feel the urge to go True Pirate right away.

There's a long road ahead? Good for all of us, one good thing about Blade and Soul is that End Gear is there for everyone (No Raids or Massive Guilds to join) and there's a long adventure to taste.

Let's see how the Labyrinth and Tower 8th are gonna be.

Actually with a good ping plus good skill rotation (also if you now how a mechanic work) you can clear mushin 8th floor with a true profane without any issue but due to bad? network connection especially in mushin tower some player might has a problem there.

When did they announce a 50 patch? 

 

There's still plenty of time to upgrade, the only thing I lack is motivation to spend the time doing so, considering the current state of the game.

Just do your dailies, run dungeons, craft and you have the mats. Pretty simple.
