Force master staff

A few weeks ago I got the very first legendary weapon skin in my server (orange weapon) and it was a bangle, when equipped it was bangle too, then I sold it.

 

Today the same bangle was being linked on the faction chat for sale and now on the market too, the owner was an FM who had it equipped (checked profile) and said it was a staff, when you shift + right click to preview it comes up with all the bangle details, force master only etc. but showed the staff... whereas my item was exactly the same and showed the bangle in preview.

 

Is this person lying to try sell it for a higher price or is it a bug where you can actually equip this staff as an FM?

The only possibility I can think of would be that someone changed the bangle's appearence to a staff..
