Hot fixing broken classes?

Recommended Posts

In World of Warcraft I know blizzard sometimes HOT FIXES a class if it's too broken. DO you think Blizzard can do the same in this game for destroyers, KFMs, FMs?

Hotfixing is just a term for applying and update without actually bringing down the servers.

I would expect them to patch during a maintenance period while bringing down the servers.  I think that is the smartest way to do things as well, as it is the safest way to apply any changes to the server, as far as I'm aware.

I don't think Blizzard has the authority to hotfix for any class here in BnS..

Nor do I think they have access to any of the coding.

If they were running it, yeah they would. But then again this is apples and oranges as we are getting ported kr patches at a slow rate IMO.

....You mentioned destroyer yet if they can't stun lock you they can't do anything. You didn't even mention bladedancer. Bladedancer takes out 40% of your HP in one air combo. Not to mention they also take out around 30% hp after grabbing you. Lets not forget their 5 or so second resist, healing, and various ways to knock you up and stun. What does destroyer have? A cheese skill that requires a lot of planning to do and knowledge of every single class. Bladedancer can just go in and end a match in less than 10 seconds under any condition with the exception of sin and summoner. Also are we not going to acknowledge Summoners? Summoners can chunk your hp even without their cat. Not only this but if you're vs a good summoner they will make it so you can't kill their cat. Also Assassins....man. Poison -> stealth -> stun/attack -> stealth -> poison -> stun/attack -> freeze -> stealth. Never ending cycle with these guys....not to mention their numerous escapes. You're probably just some silver sin/summoner who thinks KFM and Des are op. Forcemaster can be absurd at times but nothing that you can't handle.

Hotfixing classes in bns will prolly go back to how they hotfixed afk timer,

ppl will do their best to not log out and patch XD SO I think just doing downtime would be better, and noone's pcs wont explode from heat.

I'm not 100% certain about this, but I'm pretty sure our developers can't or aren't permitted to deploy any type of patches outside of what they get from KR. Maybe they can do minor things like bug fixes. This is the problem with ports and NA/EU publishers who don't have much leeway to change things. In the past, the NA/EU publisher for KR ports is nothing more than a glorified CM and middleman for NA -> KR. Absolutely no action is taken in terms of content and balance unless it comes in the form of a patch from KR.

Supposedly, things get much better at 50, but how long until we see that content. 3 months? Six months? A year? Who knows. It depends on how long it takes the NA team to localize KR patches. They released a patch that was developed for level 50 classes and content. Perhaps Summoners needed buffs at 50 in KR? In the meantime, people will complain endlessly and absolutely nothing will be done from an interim balance perspective despite the outrage.

IMO, they should have held off on Rising Waters and bundled everything together for a big level 50 patch. They could have held community tournaments and events in the interim, but I guess that depends on how far out the level 50 patch is.

They follow Korean balance patches, the only thing they have control over is the content we receive.

This is not possible because hotfixing would imply that the changes would go live without bringing the server down for an incremented/scheduled update.  You are thinking of a patch/update.

Destroyers don't need a hotfix lol the fury, cleave, wrath animation cancel is extremely balanced compared to the shit other classes can pull out of thier asses. and if you just happen to die multiple times to a destroyer using it, you *cricket*ed up and its your fault, that move takes alot of time and planning to successfully pull off. play smarter and stop complaining about balance, when you know so little about it.
