Korean text prevents me from chatting

Everytime I try to type in the chat box, my cursor turns red and nothing will show up.  Then I go to the marketplace and when i type things in the search bar, korean characters pop up???  No clue why this happens but it is very frustrating :(.  I am playing on the NA server Yehara.
