Was just wondering before I go in how popular the game really is or will it just be a waste of time?

I usually use Twitch to kind of gauge a game's popularity. According to Twitch, the only MMOs more popular than this one are WoW and Destiny at the moment : ). This is a very good choice and likely won't have much competition for the next 2-3 years.

On korea, there's even theater on street. (You can see buildings when the camera rotate). If this is not "popular", I don't know what is. XD

It's free. You won't lose anything by trying it out yourself.

The only thing server effects is world PvP (Not instanced pvp), everything else can be done through queuing up through a system. So even if your server's dead everything can be done. just as well, minus world pvp.

Why do you care if it's popular or not? Just play it if you like it.
This is a very good game with a very bad business mode.

BDO is about to blow up. The hype is real. Over 300K paid preorders and it's not even FTP.

Dont even talk about BDO. It has no content other than crafting and fishing 24/7 and the EU/NA version is a pure grind (This is probably the first MMO where you have to grind 3 times more in the western version). It's just a 1:1 copy of ArcheAge with the same hype and after 4 weeks the game is dead. Do you really think people will spend 3k hours to get from 50 to 60 to be able to unlock the best weapons in the game? Hell no. The highest KR player is what? Around 68 +/- 2. All you do once you hit 50 to get xp is use XP scrolls and grind like there is no tomorrow.

 

There is a reason why BDO isnt popular in Korea anymore.
