Coldbody
I have two friend that are assassins, both have the SAME exact gear, aside from gems in their weapons, on is lvl 35 one is lvl 33 the lvl 33 has more Crit chance than the 35. I had them do process of elimination and found that their rings display the same stats, but the 33's gives 3% more crit, and found that other items such as neckless and earrings are giving him more crit. What's going on???
Tudar
Going to use easy numbers - they are completely made up. Level 33 with 1000 crit = 33% Level 35 with 1000 crit = 30% This is because the stats are not linear. As you level up you need more in each stat to keep up with the %'s. They are assuming you will progress your weapon, accessories and soul shield with higher stats. If this were not the case, then all level 45's would have 100% crit rate with 300% crit damage. RedMistress
So you are saying it is intended that a level 35 player is weaker as a level 33 player?
panikas
Thats how most MMos stats work, the bigger level u have the less crit % u get from the same stats. For example 50 crit rating at level 1 will give you like 5% crit and 50 rating at level 45 will give you 0.2%.
RedMistress
Hmmm that is my first MMO that works that way, just very strange, maybe I stay level 1 :)
Cyaena
The %al Crit Rate is always the Crit Rate für enemies on your Level. So you are going to crit lower level enemies more often. Example: Level 30 with 30%(1000points) crit crits 30% on level 30 enemy. Level 35 with 25%(1000points) crit crits 30% on level 30 enemy as well. Nogueira
This is called "Diminishing Return". A very known term used in MMO's.

RedMistress
played over 10 years Rangarok Online and never heard of such ridiculous system :) Well due it I was able to beat Blackram Solo on level 21, due the fact you can level up your weapon to max (until you get to level 36) so you get an insane bonus on most stats, after that all my stats slowly decreased till I was level 36 as all my EQ was maxed with 21. It isn't that bad, but it just feels wrong from my perspective :)
Fuush
All I can say is: "Lol Ragnarok Online" :) You should compare with another proper MMO

All major MMOs work this way. Its simple stat inflation. You really do sound new to mmos or didnt understand the underlying math behind things. That said, I'd like to see a list of MMOs with diminishing returns. Only game i've played was Tera but cant even remember what kind of items. Its not really diminishing return. Diminishing return is like if certain ability is used several times in row against something it wont be as effective as the first time. For example stun that last 10 second. Second time stunned stun might last 7 seconds and third time 3 seconds and after that immune to stuns til diminishing return ends But outside those game which i've no clue every mmorpg has been like this. Lower levels can get higher crit % with less crit rating because required amount crit rating for 1% increases based on level. Easy example from WoW. Numbers are thrown my hat but: LvL 1 character can have 100% crit chance with 50 crit rating While for LvL 100 50 crit rating is 0.1% crit. If they kept values same then it would mean that lvl 100 would reach 100% crit chance with one gem. Quickly checked Swotor and for me it looks like they too follow this pattern
