People spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the RNG boxes?? Why..????

I get maybe spending a couple hundred off the bat if you have that kind of cash to spend on this game, I am guilty myself.  But these RNG boxes that have practically a non-existant drop rate for some of the items, it just seems insane to spend maybe your rent money, your grocery money, or money for actual "real world" items you can actually make use of in real life, than on digital content that you might not ever get.

Is this just a spending compulsion that people have??  "scratches head"...   I bought one of the RNG things, one.. haven't bought another one.  I am certainly not going to buy anymore outfits that is for sure, I still haven't gotten my other items restored or fixed.

I just don't get it..spending that much cash on a game.

Gambling is an addiction for some people.  It starts with buying a few boxes just for fun and escalates to "There's no way I'm quitting now without getting something worthwhile; I'm already $200 deep into this!"

I'll never get it myself, but I'm not into gambling in the least.  It feels like flushing money down the toilet to me, because the odds are always HEAVILY stacked against you, but some people...

Some people are really rich and think spending $1000 on RNG boxes is an insignificant expenditure. Other people have impulse control issues and developers will happily design monetization mechanisms specifically to extract money from these kinds of people. I suspect that the latter group outnumbers the first group.

But those wallet warriors aren't spending 'grocery, or rent' money. They obviously have plenty to spare and you don't need to question it.

If if someone seriously went without food for an RNG box they need to be committed to the psyche ward

Bought 1 and realized you could get alot of items needed. Didnt really care about costume but got it on 3rd box and never wore it, well I did once and thought it was ugly. I plan on buying some more to get some extra items I could use.

They believe.  They dreams.  They are forever optimists, shining beacons of hope, in a world of filled to the brim with the decaying, dying masses; cynical, pessimistic shitters who would sell their own children just to feed themselves.

Or their parents had the Zeekas.  And they were dropped by the doctor.  Three and a half times.

Take your pick.

Haha and that part is the irony you cant get something worthfull, lets say you spend 200$ and finally get the costume, yeah congrats :') you can only rip yourself, unless you get it in 5 boxes

Because some people have disposable income? What's it to you? Assuming that everyone has a "gambling problem" with the whole rent money and grocery money bit is retarded. Some people just have money to waste, and they can waste it how they want. What's to not understand? People are different, and hold their money to a different value than you. Get off your soapbox.

They're the kind of people F2P Game Managers want and use to advertise/Communicate that RNG boxes are actually making more money then normal cash shop sales.

They're the kind of people gullible enough to send their money on boxes, and will keep spending until they get what they want or are out of money.

As Keawen wrote : slot machines are exactly the same principle and only a specific kind of people play them.

Lol, this model has been the core of f2p games for years..

and this game is just in baby steps when it comes to making people "waste" their money

Go check Perfect World Entertainment games.. those are serious money milking games.. people have spent over 50k$ in the course of a couple of years on a single game there mostly on RNG boxes.. lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBtXyv0Q1Eg this episode of extra credits have been passed around about the issue of throwing money at games, and the various types of people you can observe doing so.

Also, I totally do not mind people who buy the boxes putting brilliant keys and moonwater transformation stones on the marketplace (sorry, moonwater stone crafters :c)

Lmao holy ***king s**t, wow. This is an eye opener.

I mean I'll pay for aesthetics, easier access to equipment, gear etc but paying for rng? No way. If I really like something and its locked behind rng I'll put aside money for it and if that money finishes and I still dont have that thing, tough luck.

This is just sick, preying on people who have it rough irl...I know, I know...no one is forcing them but dammit would you give them a gun to kill themselves if they asked for it?
