Recommended Posts

some sort of DDOS Attack, and to check out the "Online time" of the Forums Mods

Anti-Spam check, build in an function that allow only postings in x time. Like in the Game. But no one had the idea until now.. this is long standard...

This happens at night, for the most part.

The ones in charge of spam wait for the mods/GMs to sleep, and then go on the attack.

The best we can do is wait for a mod to clean it up.

These spam sure do hit the spot. I was just thinking to myself I was in the market for a world famous astrologer. Sure glad they can point me in the right direction!

This is funnier than the spam we had at the Lineage II boards about cheap kitchen tops.

Seen the same spam on another game forum.

So far, nothing can be done, just deleting.

ah, the Path of Exile forums had the same exact spammers! clearly us gaming people are a kitchen bench specialists target market!

I don't understand how a bigass multimillion company has this problems.

How much do you think they pay a comunity manager aka forum mod? Have four guys take a 6h shift and you're set for 24/7 forum moderation.

I'd happily swing a ban hammer around for free.

EDIT:  Or maybe NCSoft could toss a few NCoins my way too.  ;o)  *nudge nudge*

really they need just basic basic protections for this sort of thing. (not allowing multiple posts in short spans of time would be one of them, moving heavily reported posts (and all others by the same author) off the page until they can be checked or removed.)

amateurs, the lot of them.

He's right; this happens almost every night and the security to bypass forum account / e-mail creating would have to be looked at too, on top of all the other junk BnS staff are currently working on.
