Divine veil vs Petal storm - example of poor balance

This might come across as nit picking to some but I recently made a summoner and one thing I noticed was how much their defensive cds offer them BASELINE compared to the only other ranged, FM, which I have at 45 and have done hundreds of pvp matches on. 

 

I understand that classes have variation in their abilities which is good but variation over poor balance choice? I'd prefer the stronger version even if it did the same as the other class, for example:

 

Divine veil: 

-18 second cd

-lasts 10 seconds

-Must channel for whole duration

-Resists ranged attacks

-Decreases dmg taken by 30%

 

Petal storm:

-18 second cd

- lasts 10 seconds (?)

- Moves with caster

- Resists ranged attacks

- Resistant to stun caused by deflect

- Enemies within the area cannot block or evade

 

Now the huge difference is the fact that FM has to channel the whole duration and one slight turn breaks it where as the summoner has it baseline, the real issue is that divine veil to become anything like BASELINE petal storm requires 3 skill points which allows it to move with the caster but doing this TRIPLES the cd on it! not only this but 3 points in divine veil grants 5% health regen over 15 seconds where as 2 points into petal provides 10% hp + 2% hp on every resist on a 24 second cd... 

 

Summoners are labelled as easy but it shouldn't provide such huge differences and advantages like this, they basically have a baseline ability which FM has to use 3 skill points to acquire, that's 3 skill points which force master really needs for other upgrades, I would hate abilities to be similar for every class but when there is such a huge advantage like this I would throw variation out the window for balance any day. Again I expect tons of comments about nit picking and L2p but IMO this is a clear divide between difficulty ratings providing huge advantages, especially when it comes to PvP.

 

If I have stated anything wrong about petal storm please say so as summoner is not my main.

The aura last 10 seconds, doesn't move from where it is cast, and the buff provided by the aura last only 3 seconds.

Okay so it's like the other tier of divine veil in which we need to spec 3 points still just to have weaker effects.

Veil reduces all damage taken by 30%. It's not like FM lacks any other means of defensive CD's.. Also, in case you didn't care to stay informed, this Wednesday we're able to unlock 5 Hongmoon levels and gain 11 skill points. So, remind me why are you complaining? If you move Veil stops channeling? Then don't move.. simple. If being able to move with Veil is that important to you.. invest 3 points in it. #problemsolved

 

EDIT: PvP in this patch requires you to choose which skill points you MUST have when fighting each class. This is nothing new for any other class.

If you channel veil, you literally can't do anything else, there is never a point where clicking veil without 3 skillpoints in it is a good idea.

And at that point the dmg reduction is either 20 or 15%.

 

With that said, petal storm doesn't really improve from skillpoints in it, while veil does become a lot better.

 

if the OP showed 3 skill point petal vs veil then it doesn't look so bad.
