Please NCSoft re-evaluate the wardrobe system!

NCSoft is absolutely losing money by keeping the wardrobe premium-only. I have no desire to pay a monthly charge in a game that then ALSO expects me to pay for tons of other things, so I will not be purchasing premium. However, if the wardrobe was available to non-premium members, I would be purchasing a lot more costumes (even more if the costumes were account-wide - a different, but related topic).

I don't see any justification at all for that statement. That may be your personal preference, but I'm maintaining a premium just for the wardrobe (which honestly, isn't worth it - but here we are). There is absolutely nothing else provided by it that appeals to me.

I really don't see how taking the one significant (to me, admittedly) premium perk away is going to make them any more money. It's not like inventory space is short, not having it wouldn't stop me buying a costume I wanted - it's just convenient changing them out on the fly.

i want to know what games you people are playing where you can buy a costume and use it on multiple characters

ive never ever been allowed to do this in a game. costumes usually bind on use to that character.

Good ones?  SWTOR, Rift, Wildstar?  (Incidentally, all of which are western developed, I believe?) Which bad ones have you been playing that don't?

You do realize that the costumes cost more them premium for 30days right? If someone bought one costume a month and nothing else, they would be "supporting the game/devs" more then someone with just premium and nothing else. *cough* you *cough*

No, I didn't.  Lots of outfits are around the $12 mark, which is pretty much the same as a month of premium, I believe?

All that said, currently, buying premium == buying wardrobe.  They should practically just rename it.  I've played some other MMO's where *all* extra storage space was rented.  To have all the "general purpose" inventory/storage space be a 1-time purchase, but specialized "only for cosmetic stuff" (that you can still put in general purpose inventory) storage be rented seems a relatively reasonable system.

And, of course, since premium *is* effectively the wardrobe, any argument in favor of removing the wardrobe from premium, presumably has to come up with some valid replacements.  I haven't really heard any.  So, I'll toss my 2cents in for something I'd like to see in premium:  Removal of all convenience costs.  Free windstride, remote quest hand-in, remote-crafting, etc.

That just shows how bad premium is for NA/EU... if Wardrobe is the only incentive and it was free on other servers, why bother having premium feature for this game... NCSoft's basically saying "Pay for this feature that was originally free cuz we want da moneyz"

I agree with you though I also think that they DO need the money as well ..

I have a premium and honestly I find that it is incredibly lack luster ..

even the bonuses you get are either pretty minor or else screw you up.. I am all the time out leveling content due to the XP bonus and THEN there is the idea that you want to try a class out and by the time you hit Jadestone you are already at the stupid week long wait for a delete and all of this because the XP is way too fast to accommodate an XP buff at those levels.

Premium AT THIS time has only the wardrobe to keep it going and the rest MEH not really ..

even the gold increase is dependent upon you spending more money on the game (and IT IS A LOT MORE MONEY to increase levels) ..

someone either got very greedy for money NOW here in the west OR they paid to much to an NCSoFT subsidiary to port this game to the west

I wouldn't mind free windstride for Premium. Heck if they really want they can give them a stamina boost for Windwalk skills (sprint, airdash etc.) instead of giving them flashy dash effects. Anything that makes premium worth their money but doesn't make it overly necessary to progress in game. I'm all up for free repairs too if that's a thing. Hongmoon coins for playing daily, anything that gives them a bonus but doesn't make them OP would be good.

THIS is the exact issue I have with the game and it's tiered system.. Premium ISN'T worth it is they allow another way to unlock the wardrobe..

Now any upgrades to the premium subscription option will turn it into a PTW option potentially (want to hear the whining then?? I sure don't) .. NPC drops will go to paying players if they up the damage and PvP will be imbecilic as the paying players steam roll anyone not paying for the game..

Tiered systems NEVER work . they should just "bite the bullet" and decide IF they want the game to be FTP (then you will see purchasable items in the store to make it REALLY easy for players willing to pay) OR just make it all PtP and all of it subscription (FTP to level 10 and then locked unless you want to pay)..

dungeons can be done by all players are often as they want ATM as well which seems nice BUT should be changed IF they continue to be tiered as the FTP players will get one chance a day at drops UNLESS they buy the option to get extra chances with a one to one option in the store or go premium.. and again I can hear the out cries that this is unfair..

WHAT is unfair is the fact that people here in the west fail to understand that the cost of doing business IS WAY higher than in the orient as many are at least socialist IF not communist and there for business gets big perks since the infrastructure is owned by the government and not by a bunch of money hungry internet providers and utilities ..'

NCSoft HAS to make money BUT they do have to balance it out as well (which I am not so sure they handled very well so far)
