New RNG Box in Shop!

I'm begging you, don't do this.

 

It starts with innocent costumes. People waste $80 and get nothing out of 45 boxes.

 

Then some boxes pop up with crafting materials or gold generating materials guaranteed.

 

Then more powerful versions of current gear start popping up. Soul shields, legendary weapons, weapon skins, costumes. Don't do this.

 

You have a great game and most people currently playing are satisfied with the F2P system as is.

 

Do the right thing, listen to your player base. Get rid of RNG boxes for good.

Don't buy the RNG BOXES. Here is why 

 

As the title states, do not buy the RNG boxes. 

 

I am not a conspiracy theorist or hate the game or for whatever reason. I am simply a concerned consumer/gamer. 

 

Before anything i want to state I that personally believe these RNG boxes target a vulnerable demographic , but this is my personal opinion that is solely based on my observations , therefore I can not defend it on a larger scale.

 

Please before you make any purchases that are RNG based, please read this artical.

The TL;DR version is that ncsoft has some very anti consumer traits by refusing to comply with an investigation in regards to the RNG payouts.. They do not want to reveal chance(%) you have of actually getting these items.

 

Please do not forget that if you are paying for anything in this game it makes you a consumer. You should fully know the percentage of getting what you pay for. It is ur right as a consumer! 

 

How would you feel if you went to go buy a new gpu or a box of chocolates and instead of the desired item you you instead recivied  a note that simple said "better luck next time bruh, here is some junk." That is what these boxes are.

 

We as a community should demand to have the desired payouts separate , or if ncsoft insists on selling them as they are,  they should have the percentages listed.

 

If you disagree with me that's fine, I just want to have my fellow gamers fully understand what will happen if they buy these boxes. It's a slippery slop and you can not trust ncsoft with ur money when it comes to this kinda thing.

A RNG box usually signifies that the game did not go on par as expected. It is a usual practice of F2P mobiles/mmos.

Although many of us on the forums expresses our displeasure there are many others who have already bought the boxes in the fat buttload. And those of us on here who says we aren't going to buy it but secretly buys it because you can't resist. That's ok there is no shame. My advice if you are pondering about opening the boxes you'll need to do it asap.

 

As with all RNG incorporated things, the master controller, in this case NCSOFT, will eventually fix the range so that you won't be able to get any of the rare stuff but in the beginning allows players to obtained them to elevate the excitement. If any of you run alts you should already realized that when you upgrade weps/acc it is no longer as successful as it once was when the game launched. Same situation when you open boxes for your weapons. RNG can be fixed. Even though the mass here doesn't think so.

I wouldn't be so against rng boxes if they weren't already trying to suck us dry by limited inventory space, only 2 character slots, no wardrobe ecc.

BUT i remember In age of wushu CBT they had someone pay equivalent of $2600 USD for a rare weapon that they could use during the CBT only and then would be wiped ..

They dont listen because they have pre determined mindset that NA/EU are braindead consumers. If you look at the history of other games that is exactly what we are and people put that label on NA/EU themselves. The label was given because people SPENT MONEY on scams like this. We have to start thinking before we purchase things the company doesn't ruin the game... we do as a community! The company will try different things to pull more money out of you despite it being dirty if you let them and we have. WE have to change not them.

Nobody wants to waste money on an RNG box for a random costume and nobody wants the opportunity for this game to be Pay to Win. Adding Keys and Soulstones and Moonwater Transformation Stones to this box adds the possibility for players to spend as much money  as they want to skip through content. All I see this chest as is a cash grab aimed at  those kinds of players.

I'm extremely disappointed. I was so happy to get away from TERA from RNG boxes to a shop where I could just pay and get what I paid for. I'd be fine with 15-20$ for a costume so long as I'm GETTING it. But I know how these garbage boxes work and I'm not going to spend a cent. If the trend continues I guess no more premium or purchases from me. Not that it will matter because I know people will eat these up even if it had a piece of cloth and a dumpling in it. GG

Yea I'm not renewing premium as it stands right now, I still have about 3-4 months though but quite honestly history has proven once things start rolling in this direction it only gets worse.  I guess when that time is up I'll see.

The one saving grace amid the insanely high priced costumes... No RNG boxes. The ONE thing you had going. The one thing I myself used defending the costume prices here on these forums.

Throwing in my 2 cents. I think RNG boxes (Gacha Boxes) are a garbage practice and have no place in games. They always are attempts at making extra money off of an item than they think they could get away with.

 

Someone on my server already bought 80 boxes and didn't get the costume, which isn't surprising. Obviously, they couldn't put a price tag of $150 on a single costume so they put it in these boxes with a ridiculously low drop rate.

 

It's lame, it's shady, and it's disrespectful to the player base. Do not buy these boxes, they only lead to disappointment.

I am very disappointed in NCsofts choice to put RNG boxes into the shop. I will not be buying them, I encourage everyone to not pay for these boxes. This is the only time when we will have the loudest voice to stop NCsoft from ruining the game by an via In game Cash Shop. 

 

I am keeping an eye out for a new game at this news. I Played TERA and watched it get worse and worse. If this game should follow suit I shall not make the same mistake and will be jumping ship early rather than later. I still have faith NCsoft might see the ire they have caused and will recant this terrible practice.

My experience from other MMOs is RNG boxes are too expensive. It drops keys and unsealing charms, but we get it already for free ingame. Why should i pay for it?

The another drop chance is varies on luck. But if luck goes out, it's more expensive than direct buy. If you want have it cheap, you should win one after 10 boxes. If not, you're ripped off and RNG box plays with your money.

 

Because money is always serious, i hate play and waste money for silly boxes. Use money for gambling is also wrong. So i will never buy RNG boxes.

Even i am founder, why should i spend more money in RNG boxes?

What I explained is that once the Currency Exchange is released you will be able to buy Hongmoon Coins with gold, so complaining about the low droprates would soon be "fixed". I wasn't replying it to them not being in the Hongmoon store :P
