Guys they just made a mistake, don't kill them for it before giving them a chance to make it right.  I too will support the hate but only if nothing changes. For now give them a chance. Turn around time is about 1 week for things to happen. Let's wait and see.

Mmk well now that we've both established that we're not broke, why not focus on WHY this is an issue rather then name calling people?  You said that people "Should have known"  there would be RNG boxes.  So with that said you're implying that it's OK that they looked into their stream cameras and lied to everyone?  Why would you defend and condone that type of behavior?

Ok ok so maybe I'm missing something about this "lying" thing. Did they actually say "we wont put RNG box in cash shop" anywhere in a stream? I dont watch their stream, they're mostly useless to watch.

Got ur point. But they told everyone there will be no Casino Boxes, that was their statement, they lied to us. It means we as ppls, player, call it like u want, WE doesnt count for them, we are just walking wallets, ready to scam.

I'd love a source on that as well. I have a hard time believing they're hurting too much after the stress of having to open new servers because of the higher-than-expected population - and they certainly didn't overspend on support personnel given the wait times and obviously rushed/incorrect responses we're seeing.

I support this message. I do not buy RNG boxes as they feed addictive behaviors in us all. Add to that NC's refusal to partake in an investigation, and it stinks of guilt. 

 

Sad part is, half the stuff that is rare drops in RNG boxes I would buy if they just offered it on the market instead of in an RNG box. Your losing sales NCsoft. Stop being sneaky, and just give us options. there are people willing to pay for options, but we won't pay to feed addictive behaviors.

It's not the first one, though... there is such a thing as customer trust, and NC has not the greatest track record in preserving that.

Ugh first you loooovvvee to use Ad Hominem, which is just not necessary, Secondly yes RNG boxes are bad, they lock stuff behind walls to feed at peoples addiction, it is a form of gambling in some sense. Its shows a Business needs to use these shady tactics, rather then just pput the items in store, or have a system in place that after "x" amount is spent you get a specific item, so if you're so flustered with RNG you're guaranteed it at some point.

 

And people complain (Not cry) on the forums, because they want to see the game go far, they want to see this game make leaps over other MMO's not just cry for no reason, people actually want this game to succeed, rather then let the "whales" have another game, which has no fish left to sustain them.

 

Yes you can brag about your wealth sure, but consider this, I've met alot smarter people that don't have to insult people on forums to get their voices heard.

 

At the end of the day I don't care how much you spent on a game, it doesn't show how much you are qualified to judge its future. Secondly Try and keep the forums civil please, this isn't a place for people of you, and other foul language tongues to go mouthing about.

NCSoft, it's really simple: REAL-MONEY transactions should NEVER involve ANY RNG, we're playing a game, if I wanted to gamble my real money, I'd go to a casino. Remember and follow the basics: "You get what you pay for". Charge a high value for the costume, that's fine (Not that you could with that butt-ugly thing), but leave RNG for gold transactions/wheel spins/weapon chests/etc.

 

Stop this shit or you will KILL this game.

The issue is that there is a chance that no matter how much you spend you could still never get the item. No amount of "good job" can fix it if rng isn't on your side.

Even if they gave me the choice of A) Buy it straigth for 30$ or B) RNG it through 2$ box, I'd buy the box.. Gambling is addictive and fun.

 

And i'll go back to my earlier statement. If they'd put the Attack Hexagonal account-bound gems like other versions, I'd gladly buy those boxes. The only way to currently get them is farming blackwyrm which is impossible for some people due to 1sided faction servers (And they're BoE not even BoA).

As I said, that's the new MO of eastern/western publishers: Make a cheap port of an established game and see what you can get away with in the west... they don't care if they kill the game, the preorders alone made them their money back already (exaggeration, obviously).

complain, cry.. The line is very thin between the two of them. If you'd read people's post on here, most of them are QQing over it.

 

Truth is, as I've already said tons of times.  You guys are NEVER happy. You say they complain because they want to see the game go far? That's bullshit right there. Every single change they do, people will complain.

 

Right now, people complain that the costume is RNG box and wish it was 15-30$ fixed price. But if they had released it at 20-30$ fixed price, people would complain that it's too expensive and want it to be cheaper. Then people will complain about some outfit being just cash shop. Then people will complain about "but i bought it on X character it,s not even account bound". People will complain no matter what. So no, it's not to get the GAME far, it's to get THEMSELVES further. Everyone is being selfish and just want everything to go their easy way. Especially in the NA Market, where the most lazy and stupid consumers are located. They want everything now now now all fed to them. That's the reason why most MMORPG becomes casual as *cricket*.

I...I might actually be in the super minority here but I really got A LOT of stuff I needed for my main and my up-and-coming Force Master. Now I have the supplies I'll need to take her straight to True Profane save the breakthrough material and fodder (those come eventually). Got 5 of the luck stones though and like 7 lucky jewels. Got a ton of unsealing charms and 19 soul stones and even a brilliant cinderlands key I can save for her. I like the outfit but personally speaking, it would've just been a nice add on. 

 

Trust me, I get the concern for RNG boxes. I remember back on PWI before anniversary packs were  around, things were really fun and normal but literally as soon as I saw the stuff those packs gave I remember seeing a ton of friends out right quit and feeling pretty down in the slumps myself (even being rather optimistic at the time). Right now though? I really and geniunely feel like I got my money's worth, at least for the amount I bought and needed. Am I for or against RNG boxes? I'm really not sure right now. Maybe putting the outfit for sale and having like some exclusive version (like on Tera how you can buy an outfit or get a dyeable one from a box) in a box or something. Idk.

 

I do feel however that this is partially a "test-the-waters" kind of thing. The rates didn't feel near as bad as the daily rates for Poh24 feels either. For now, I'll just have to watch how things unfold before making a definite opinion and taking a definitive stance.
