Level 45 gearing guide and helpful links

I am pretty butthurt about the extreme lack of a database for the NA/EU versions of BnS. Im going to post some of the things I have found through research and my own personal playtime.

First. Some links.

http://www.bladeandsouldojo.com - mostly Asian version difficult to translate skills as a new player

http://www.bnstree.com - best database style website for skill planning

http://www.bns-fashion.com - aside from the fashion it mentions where sword upgrades are found. And the site is very easy to navigate.

http://www.freedomplays.com/category/blade-soul  - Again, Asian versions however, some of the guides go into math dps calculations and very good overall info.

Ok secondly, I have only played blade master. I can only give input from that point or view. However, most of the gear is uniform for all classes. I am really only going to hit on current level 45 content.

So you hit 45. First thing you should do is upgrade your Soul shield. You have 2 options for this. Here is a good website for looking at some items in the game. http://bns.endgame.pk/soul_shields/ (The site is still being made and improved, only reason i didn't list it above)

1) Moonwater Arena soul shield set.(Green) -Go to Misty woods and get in an insignia farming team. This is a pvp event but if you get in a big group its very safe and can take as little as 1 hour to comlete. You need 160 insignias for the set.

2)Blackram Supply soul shield set. (Orange) -This is farmed in Blackram supply chain E. Fleet and the normal 6/4man version of Blackram supply chain. (The option takes longer and will use a lot of your much needed unsealing charms)

Next, if you havent done it already. Head to Orchard of souls and get your profane weapon from the wheel of fate.(Red)

http://imgur.com/3uDp0x4 -map for all of said information.

I read somewhere that the stats from the weapon required for upgrade are randomly rolled and carry over to the new weapon. (Could someone confirm). If so it would be highly worthwhile to farm crit dmg or critchance if you have the patience.

The stats on soul shield are randomly rolled. If you are after absolute BiS items you will need to roll them several times over.

Infusing: An amazing place to start with infusing is the crafted moonwater critical soulshield. It gives 177 flat. And depending on which slot you're infusing. You gain anywhere from 88 to 130 crit. This is the quickest way to get to 40% crit rating.

Total cost per infuse is 2 soulstone 3 infusing powder and 7 silver. If you craft them they cost 10 soulstones and 10 white cedar logs and just under 3 silver.

Gems: There's a lot of trash when it comes to gems.. first here are the 4 gem types you want.

Diamond - +Attack power

Ruby - Chance for (x)Bonus damage on attack(5%?)

Topaz - (x)Bonus damage to stunned tartget

Amethyst - (x)Life stolen on critical hit

Maybe you're thinking like I did. Well I'm a tank and those +block/defense/evasion gems look really nice. While they definitely have value. The only benefit on tanking bosses is that they give you a handicap incase you miss a block. But you lose a massive damage increase from the attack gem. The heal gems for block and evade sadly only proc on the auto block/evade(not iframes or manually blocking) I haven't tested this but someone metioned that green quality gems have a 50% chance to proc and rare ones have a 100%(does not apply to ruby)

Depending which shield set you chose and if you did your RNG hailmarys you should have anywhere from 30-42k hp 40-50% crit, and 170-190%crit damage.

Stats from upgrade weapons do not roll over into the new weapon. All weapons have set stats. You can view them if you'd like. Go to the weapon upgrade window and click on the left tab. There it shows the weapons used for the next rank, the previous rank, and the breakthrough material. Shift click any of them and it'll bring up a new window. from there you can follow the weapon path until it's maxed.

Edit* I suggest the moonwater arena soul shield. It gives you 10k more hp which in turn is a massive boost in survivability.
