need KFM help

I recently hit 45 on my KFM and am trying to learn the combos.  I have watched many videos but I am having a hard time doing them within the stun times.  I notice often that instead of shin kicking I am knocking them down meaning the stun has ended.  Also my f seems slow.  I try to push it in the combo before the F notification is shown on screen (but i know they are stunned since I stunned them just before I pushed it, is this causing problems from what people know?  Or will pushing F as long as they are stunned even if the F notification isnt shown work properly?

I am willing to listen to any tips or tricks to help me learn the combos faster (what did you do to learn them?)

KFM lives from counter button 1. landing the counters is important to set up your high kick combo into your grapple combo.

Stunning with your X also good for that set up.

Timing the counters  / spamming counter will gve you more opening to actually .. counter.

Do not sleep on the Q and E keys to slip behind and get some kicks in...

Here is a simple combo set

1 -> on success  -> F -> F -> RMB -> LMB -> LMB -> tab -> RMB for 3 hits  -> 2

Um.. that's not really good advice at all. This game is all about timing and reactions, spamming anything is almost an instant fail.

You're doing your combo too quick. There's a steady pace you need to keep, you can't mash the buttons. If you press 3-R too quick, your 3 won't register and your F won't show up.

the person i was watching was able to get the keys he said off, but when i do it i always end up knocking them down meaning its to slow.

Mars your advice is really quite bad.  As a KFM your goal is to set up a daze when your opponents retreat is down or a stun and convert this into a 3rf combo.  Also generally grapple is not used, we put points into it so it's not even grapple on tab anymore.

And spamming counter leaves very obvious openings between the counters that allows your opponent to easily time their cc to hit you, or simply use a skill that breaks counters.  Spamming counter at higher skill levels is a surefire way to die.

This joke was almost as bad as I'm sure you are at the game. Please stop making a fool of yourself. Go sway in and out of gold you filthy rat.

Sorry i don't cookiecutter into one style.  I never sit and imitate people on youtube, that is not even gaming, it is cloning.

There's a difference between cookiecuttering and understanding your class.  Intentionally doing combos that do less damage and choosing to use your skill points in ways that aren't actually useful to helping you win matches is going to result in more losses.  Maybe eventually you'll work your way to something more similar to the standard build as you improve.

Are you attempting to practice the combo on open world mobs instead of players?  I ask because there is a 20% reduction in CC duration on mobs, you need a necklace from Misty Woods insignias to increase it back to 'normal'.

My build works for me. Because I like challenging game play and not being a clone. I would say to the op, work out what feels good for you, don't be a lamer who can't come up with their own style and build.

Funniest part about people who don't put the time into creating a unique build, they will  pretend they came up with it on their own and pretend it was their mind winning matches when it is just imitation. Kind like like watching Britiany Spears trying to be like Madonna, never gonna happen.

It's from the faction vendors.  Either in Cerulean War Tent or Crimson War Tent depending on which faction you're in. It's a blue called "Misty Woods Necklace".

Bro if your build works for you all the more power to you. You need to realize that a build does not win a match for you though, the people winning matches using build's other people made are in fact using their mind to win matches.  You need to consistently outsmart and outplay your opponent to win; using someone else's build does not do that for you.

Also I really don't understand the distaste for learning from people who are more experienced and skilled than you are.  If I was learning how to play basketball and Michael Jordan wanted to give me some tips you're sure as hell I'd listen up. One of human's greatest abilities is our capacity to learn from each other; there's no reason to throw that away.

The only time I really watch for being able to shin kick is in PvE since I don'y know when my allies will cc.  In arena you'll be in total control of your skills and as such should know exactly when the cc is coming.

Basically if you hit a stun/daze on your opponent and you're targeting them shin kick is available, no need to look down to confirm that it is.  You just need to learn the timing of how early you can actually start using other moves after your stun (each skill has a different length, though for most it is fairly easy to feel out just by watching their animations).

any words of wisdom vs other classes?

Every class has a different plan that needs to be set, as every situation is different. I would honestly recommend shiro, radeyzz or aalaguna. Even though I'm diamond along with them they have more knowledge of matchups than I do. You can type in those names on youtube and twitch and you'll find their videos.
