That's the point: we can't necessarily wear what we want! There's are costume versions that I don't have access to that I WOULD wear, but because I chose the wrong race, I can't. I don't care if somebody else wants to wear it, because it's their CHOICE to wear it. The one costume I have found that I really like is INSANELY revealign on my toon, whereas the exact same costume on my friend's race is super appealing to me.

So in essence you like a sexy costume, but don't want to wear it because it is sexy?  Contradiction much?

There are, as others pointed out, other options in the game you can choose if you want to be 'covered up'.  But apparently, unfortunately for you..burka isn't a costume option.  So sorry.

I think she's saying exactly the opposite. There is a costume she likes, but on her chosen race (I'm assuming either Gon or Jin from how shes describes the outfits as she has not yet stated which race she chose) it is rather revealing whereas on her friend's character (which I'm assuming is either Yun or Lyn), this same attire is less revealing and more to her tastes. She desires this version of the costume. This is merely my understanding of what she was trying to convey.

Oh I get that...but it ISN'T an option for her in this game.  There are other options that she could use, either rolling as the race she wants, picking another outfit or playing another game.  But instead she wants to advocate censorship for all, based on what she wants.  Here's my response:

Meh, there are plenty of  potential options, though you need to have some serious time invested in order to have a wide range of them. Come to think of it, you have more freedom in this game than others, in which reskins/transmutes are not possible, whereas the best armor for your build may not necessarily look all that great.

If I had one complaint, I'd like them to remove the stupid tail from the Ashes in the Fall outfits from the Cinderlands or shrink it and move it somewhere else on the outfit. It just does not look good - and there's no need to make every other race/gender look like a wannabe-Lyn while wearing it.

Not only that, but in our current version we only have a small sampling of all available costumes. More will come with time.

I don't understand the tail portion on these attires either and they aren't even the only ones that have it. Two cash shop items "Scarlet Shade" and the Gon version of "Winter Flower" also have these large fluffy tails and I don't know why. It really takes away from the look of the outfit.

Bullshit. Female characters are piece of meat in this game. The male design is cool, the women design is an impossible body with 120breasts and a nicky minaj ass.

1st of all - it's the player himself that decide if the female char will have monsterboobs and a Nicky Minaj Ass - There a lot other designs - it's even possible to create a chubby girl with normal proportion. (btw, that fact that you can relate the proportions to a existing person determines that these bodies are NOT impossible)

But try for once to create a male Jin oder Gon without a sixpack *cough*

Again and again and again: this is a fantasygame and player used to play those to get diversity from the reality they have to face everyday at work, family or even school - not to have a 2nd reality online.

I'm not offended because the males all look way better then me irl - why are you?

All the sexy outfits are just for money.

Nah, that again is not true.

Dark Sandstorm

Infinite Challenger (on Gon Girls)

The Quest reward from Cinderlands

Bandit Queen(dang it, why has it to be Gon female only?)

The Wolfoutfit

The Scorpionoutfit

The Profane Jiangshioutfit

There are lots of sexy Outfits for free either. Oh i still have so much to farm...

Pretty sure one of the main draws to this game is the portrayal of the females in the game, they are based on the artwork of a known Hentai artist.

It is kind of anathema to not want sexually explicit outfits in this game.

He is not hentai artists lol, he is indeed famous for his character design for various games.....

More to topic: while a lot of outfits ARE revealing not all of them are (pure evil for example shows 0 skin).

This is going to get real dumb real quick now so I'm just going to fire and forget here.

Males and Females both sexualise the other sex (or their own in the case of homosexuals), it's called being human.

For every DOA there is a trashy "romance" novel ala 50 Shades of Grey.

For every man drooling over a sexy woman in a swimsuit, there is some woman drooling over a hunk with his top off.

Shoujo manga are just as trashy and servicy as shounen, sometimes even more so.

It all has a right to exist, I am not a totally ripped man with an amazingly pretty face, but I see no harm in the existance of yaoi manga which is pretty much all pretty boys *cricketing * eachother and is targeted squarely at women for sexual gratification and I also have no problem with women's panel shows and mags drooling over the latest photos of some Hollywood stud with his shirt off.

There is nothing bad about people embracing their sexuality and with different media catering to different people with their own inclinations, rather than trying to tear down something others like, find something you like or make something you like.

And if you are insecure about your body don't go crying about the portrayal of attractive people being attractive being terrible and making you feel bad, either see a therapist and learn to love yourself or make some plans and start improving yourself.

This is the best post in this entire thread and it deserves to be repeated.

Look, Ill cut to the short and simple of all this (if someone else hasnt already)

The games work, designs, and etc is based on Hyung Tae Kim. Look him up in google, and you will quickly see that he draws women (and men) in a certain fashion, and ALL costume design is built around his aesthetics. BnS design values are based around that. If your not a fan of that, I dont know what to tell you. I wont lie and say that HTK's work does tend to....exaggerate...the female proportions a lot, along with displaying a lot of skin. But thats just the design choice. Id say preview the costumes, and if you like it, then so be it. But if you dont, then just stop playing the game on the principle of not supporting the art direction or value. There is nothing wrong with that option, and I personally encourage people to do it if theyre really opposed to something. Otherwise, its just suck it up and accept thats the way the art direction is made.

If you're worried about the objectification of women you oughta take care of that literal porn problem first. You can take all the sexy pretty women out of all the video games but at the end of the day, if a 17 year old can fire up some pornography and have a wank at a real life woman being used like a meat sleeve then all of that effort is for naught.

IMO, there are too many pigs at the trough to keep women from being objectified now and we don't even know if our perspective of women will change if sexualization/objectification of them is taken out of the media.

I thought BnS had a Censor option in settings or does the NA version not have this? Probably will solve some of these delicate people with their issue.

Omg I wish it did.  But i wish I could filter it just for certain outfits. Because some of them look much cooler with bodysuits attached.

It's called prevalence and men are actually not objectified.  Objectification is treating someone as an object.  This ONLY happens to women.  Women looking at hot men are not objectifying them since they are still seen as people not just bodies.

Wow, it seems you really hate men. Flashnews: neither men nor women are any better or worse when it comes to this topic. Although many women just hide it better. The way you mark basically every men as the culprit and every women as a victim is a very special sort of sexual discrimination.

Men do sexualize women in video games and I have no problem with that. I love sexy women. But as a female myself, I am super angry at the fact that there aren't enough women sexualizing men! We need to create games with sexy ass men. I'd want to play them more. To be able to say I only play male characters because they have nice asses would be nice.  BnS is the only game I'd think about playing a male character because I can make mine sexy. I'm really hoping for a speedo outfit. Please NcSoft make that happen! I'd pay you whatever~!

The problem is that females need to get together, start a gaming company that only develops RPGs with sexy ass speedo wearing males! If none of you have noticed most guys like to run around naked. They'd pretty much play it also; if the story and combat is good.

No seriously, I think someone needs to get out more. I know plenty of women who've had guys and tossed them aside like they were nothing. My best friend only dated a guy because of his um tool and he fell in love with her. She had to break it off with him because she just didn't feel that way about him. He stalked her for a while but he wasn't a serious stalker and gave up after she threaten him.

I'm "straight white male", but I really like that idea :D If my programmer's career shifts into gamedev, I'm going to make this game happen :D

Every player will have full abs, JoJo pose and will be wearing only a loincloth :D

Would be funny to see that happen :p. Honestly, BnS (Jin male) and TERA (Castanic/High Elf male) are the two games that did this the best, but in TERA there's really not a whole lot going on for male costumes since they really only cater to female characters (though they do have speedos!). Here it's obviously different, and I'm actually debating making a Jin male just because they're...really nice to look at. It goes both ways - there's just less female gamers out there to objectify male characters, and even less games that make actually sexy male characters. Most games tend to lump all their male playable characters into the human-shaped Grumpy Cat category.

@thread - the self-righteous feminist crap is old. If you're going in with that mindset into a game, you picked the wrong hobby. Furthermore, if you're playing Gon, you could've, I dunno, looked at the wardrobe as soon as you loaded in and seen what costumes look like on her. Lyn is almost entirely covered up save for very few costumes, Yun has more conservative costumes than skimpy ones, and Jin is somewhat of a mix - some skimpy, some not. Gon is way at the other end of the spectrum, and if you're insisting on playing the skimpiest female race, don't expect to find as many tolerable choices as other races have if showing a little skin really offends you that badly.

FYI, our version got censored already. In the other versions they literally wear sexy lingerie rather than what we have at default - it got censored here. There are plenty of options for both skimpy or non-skimpy, and if you'd prefer the latter but can't find any you like for Gon, either pick another race or pick another game. It's really not that complicated.

Wait, what?  I just went through wardrobe and not counting faction uniforms (since they cause PvP which one may not want) I count at least 30 that aren't just short skirts (they have leggings or long boots and no split up along the leg) or covers almost everything and none of them are what I'd call fetishistic.

That was on Jin.  So, I'm not sure what you're complaining about.  Unless the issue is just that you can't find an outfit you like period.
