7Trickster
There is nothing wrong with random %. However when in various levels you notice that you open tons of chests get every class weapon thrice but yours? No it's wrong. It's there mostly to force you to buy hongmoon keys. Same thing with server queues or wardrobe, they won't change anything because the idea is to little by little try to make you buy in the cash-shop. Not because you want but because in many cases you are stuck. Which is bad for business but they're too greedy to realise that. I could pay a lot buying stuff from the shop I want and like. I've been lucky I never got stuck with no keys/ultra bad luck but some people are. Just stop the stupid asian RNG and add NPC selling items for a specific amount of tokens like every decent modern game.
ExaltedAnt
Personally I have nothing against RNG. It is part of every game. I am OK with a costume having, say, 1% chance of dropping. What I have problem with is rigging of outcomes where a fair probability is expected - an example being 8 different weapons dropping from chests. The probability should be 1/8 for each weapon. Gabrielct
I think the chance you have to drop your weapon from chests or wheel is like between 5-10%, which is less than 12.5%. In all my playthrough to lvl 45, was really uncommon to drop in 1 or 2 times, but it happened. Some of them i needed like 20-30 times to get it. Frankly speaking i think theres a pattern where at some point you will have less chance to get it, just so you can experience what grind is, which this game is totally inclned to. I am totally fine with grinding because wouldnt be rewarding as much if it was too easy to get it.
Yed
Used 36 keys to get Golden Deva weapon, yesterday I used another ~30 keys on another weapon box. RNG... Worst is, I am not bothered by it, I have been playing ArcheAge (aka CasinoAge) for more than a year, so sadly, I am used to losing the odds of RNG. BnS is a breeze compared to ArcheAge :(
ZeroCore
As for me, only when trying out BM i did not get the weapon on it, other classes, mostly around 2-3 boxes >.<
ElBuzz
on one character i got first try, then next upg longer. its really rngm and not fabricated.
Hazardi
I totally agree with this as I wasted 19 keys for those chests when I tried to get my weapon upgrade. Needless to say I got all other class-items several times but mine. Since keys are highly overpriced like every merchant item in this game at the moment, buying more of them is not an option... I also had to do Blackram Narrows over 20 times to get that weapon upgrade from there.. While I agree RNG is big part of MMO's, this is just ridiculous. Bad luck or not, sometimes this game is just showing up its middle finger to me
ZeroCore
I wonder how many of you raided in WoW pre-Wotlk that is, the time you got that freaking set from Sunwell >.< this is really all down to luck.
Teffy
I got on my BM the lvl 20 weapon first run(on FM I used the key I got from master pack). I got the deva wep first try on FM and 5th on BM. I got the bangle from first box from the sea monster fish. I got the lvl 42 roulette weapon after 3 tries on FM. I got the weapon from twin dungeon on the 4th try. I got storm Siren weapon on 5th try. The siren weapon on 3rd try from the box(4 man personal box reward).Seen the bangle 2 more times. RNG at it's finest but thats what RNG is. SilentCaay
RNG is fine in an MMO. RNG that requires keys is not. On one char I got my required Stalker weapon after like 3 keys. On my other char it took like 10 keys. The day I find myself out of keys and needing them for a required upgrade for my weapon is the day I quit the game. I don't do cash shop gambling in video games. If I happen to make it through the game without needing to buy keys then good for NCSoft because I do like to spend money in the cash shop, just not on gambling. If I don't, though, then it's their loss.
ZeroCore
Also, just that everyone knows, you get Key's from the dailies in Jade Village, actually you get a lot of keys from dailies and stuff >.> seals can be crafted, also i noticed a lot of people waste their keys/seals on green/blue junk :C

I haven't gotten to that point yet. The fact is that if they don't give you enough free keys and I do get to the point that I need to buy them to continue then I will quit before buying cash shop gamble keys. Like I said, on one of my chars it took 10 or more keys to get the Stalker weapon I needed. If dailies give you like 3 keys (just guessing here) then that would have taken me four days to get the weapon I needed. That's a waste of my time and I'd rather not put up with it. mbrown17
you should only be opening chest that contain the weapon u need for breakthrough and u should only be unsealing the weapons u need for breakthrough if u do anything others ur wasting ur keys/charms
Aiezen
I believe the Deva weapons can be traded like the stalker ones, so instead of wasting all your keys it's better to just sell 1-2 keys to get enough silver to buy the weapon off the Auction House. Lots of people are losing their minds over having to endlessly grind to get something, but most situations the game gives you a much simpler way. For example the wheel weapons. Sell a key or charm and just buy them off the AH. The Blight weapon you need for Breakthrough, use a Viridian Key to guarantee your classes weapon! The Daily Dash gives you one of those items that transforms into Hongmoon coins, so use the Hongmoon Coins to buy the key! I'm not denying the frustration of this games RNG, because it is on a whole other level! All I'm saying is that if you really look, you can usually find an alternative, easier route then driving yourself mad by filling your inventory with Warlock weapons lol

And the Stalker weapons are only relevant around level 8 or so while you need to be level 15 to even use the auction house.

You can still ask other people for them, it's faster than rolling it constantly. Plus I believe you don't need to be 15 to use AH (I bought my weapon from AH on level 6 somehow. Am I a unicorn?) I thought they would be since I purchased the Deva Ring(or earing I can't remember which) off the AH for Breakthrough so I figured the wep would be the same, guess not lol. It may just be one of the times your forced to deal with the RNG, or the easier way just hasn't been discovered yet :) 8 minutes ago, SilentCaay said: And the Stalker weapons are only relevant around level 8 or so while you need to be level 15 to even use the auction house. Peps
By the time I got my Blight Staff, I had at least three copies of every single other class weapon. Rigged? Only the devs know.
