It didn't work. RIP Faction chat.

NCSoft can't be serious with the level 10 restriction.
You'd think they'd learn by now, especially since Rukkiri used to work for Square Enix (Because the level cap didn't work for them either in FFXIV and the bots/spammers just out leveled the restriction)

You actually expected a lvl restriction to make a difference?  I suppose you also think banning will work?

Of course it will make a difference.

Don't be ridiculous.

You can't be serious if you honestly think that having a lvl 10 restriction will make absolutely no difference at all.

You're right, it'll make a difference...

Since it'll take a little more time before they can spam, they'll have more bots in the pipeline, thus using up more "spaces" on the server, leaving less room for actual players.

Didn't realize you were also looking for "negative" differences though.

What makes you think that?
1 slot is being used up by that lvl 4 character who is spamming the faction chat.

When he is banned, that slot slot is freed up.

Until they make the next character, and fill up that 1 slot again.

How would it make a negative difference on server population...?

One slot for one character, bot farms operate multiple program instances for multiple characters PER PC.

So much for the Level 10 restriction.

sigh so much for using chat to sell my items to avoid the fee...

I talked to Jonathan on Tumblr about this already

@ImpyHow about you tell them to get some volunteer GMs on the servers. I have been preaching this to the forums, to support, in game... I can understand not wanting to pay people for it, but seriously, there are many people like me qualified to do the job on a volunteer basis, and while it isn't a 'solution' having GMs online on every server, nearly 24/7 would make muting/banning so much easier.

For me, I don't mind captcha to just to mitigate this spammers.

they can bypass captchas easily enough. all adding captcha will do is make it inconvenient for legitimate players to use chat.
