Gamepad Issue: Inverted Axis

So when i'm useing a gamepad that's similiar in look/set up to a PS one.  When I move forward my guy moves backward and vice versa.  I dont have the Y inverted Axis option selected (putting it on doesnt fix it either I tried) and going into the Gamepad functions in the Settings Menu doesnt let me change the movement buttons as they are greyed out.  I wouldnt mind trying this game out on a gamepad because I feel it would play so much better, but i cant get used to the inverted movement.  Is this an issue with the settings or is my Gamepad messed up and causing this?  Anyone know?

1) what controller you using (this game uses Xinput so if you're using xbox controller, skip to (2))
2) try connecting your controller before the game start (just a hunch, cause of previous experience with games that screws up controller if you don't connect it before starting the game)
3) try (2) then change your axis invert settings in option

Im having the exact same issue as Mavenx, whenever i press forward on my y axis my char moves backwards visa versa. y axis is completely messed up and i think it has something to do with the game because i tried Playing Tera and i had no such issues.
