Can "checking files" be avoided?

Hello everyone!

 

I'll jump straight onto my problem. My hard disk is similar to a potato with its 20-25mb/s processing rate. It takes around - mh - 20 minutes? for me to check 24 GB on every start up. Can I somehow avoid the check? In addition the queues take ages too >_>

 

Also: Every time I reload the page the "search box" is there for like 0.5 seconds and disappears afterwards. What's this sorcery?
