Cynic
The mandatory "giant enemy crabs" appear in the main quest near the start of the game, where you fend them off at the shore. There are small crabs, and big ones which follow. It's a giant swarm, and you need to kill 50. Genji 2 was also hack-and-slash with lot of minions to mindlessly kill. RheaXen
Behind Enemy Lines The Ring reference! xD Basically you need to speak to a guy who is supposedly turned into a scroll by a curse and then summon this girl from a well. By the way, she's called "Cute Pie" lol Full Metal Jacket Life of Pi Memories of a Geisha? Rebels without a Cause Saving Private Ryan I don't know of this is a reference but in Blade Runner there is a Monologue called Tears in the Rain
BCJinx
I don't have a screenshot for this since I only caught the reference after I turned in the quest. But in the Cinderlands, I think when escorting Oh Tak, there is a drop quest called: "Chronicles of Naryu-na" (The Chronicles of Narnia) Edit: Oh and there is one more I remember. A quest called: Mystically Delicious. (A side quest at Gunwon Garrison) Which I believe is for: Magically Delicious! (Lucky Charms cereal. "They're Magically Delicious!") My brother and I spent a good 10minutes cycling through our favorite childhood cereals trying to remember which quote that came from. XD
GravesTheOutlaw
I'm surprised nobody caught this Star Wars reference yet:
Hidaru
sorry its not bigger xD but The Once and Future king. And in Blackram Supply Chain there is an assassin boss that transforms into a woman which I believe is a reference to Naruto Sexy Jutsu lol

Noekemi
Off the top of my head there are two. Firsly, there's a book you can obtain that gives you a quest called "Chronicles of Naryu-na" or something like that, I don't really remember the last word, but it sounded a lot like Chronicles of Narnia. Edit: Found a screenshot! Secondly, one of the story-line NPCs on the eastern continent barges in on you in a house acting very angry, until you show him your "Skyhaven Badge". Made me think of how pokemon above a certain level don't listen until you get the beat the appropriate gym and get their badge.

Renivere
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. Chef Tae Jangeum in Blackram Supply/E. Fleet is a reference to Dae Jang Geum from the very famous Korean drama Jewel in the Palace. In the drama, Jang Geum was a palace maid who was known for her amazing cooking skills. Also the rep in Hogshead Hamlet is also "Jangum" which is the same reference.
Yndril
Possible reference to the Roc Feather that is normally found in some of the older Zelda games, though their use is different, so maybe not. Pokemon reference on a random cloth merchant. Possible reference to Princess Peach and Bowser (which would make you something akin to Luigi I suppose). Know there were some more, but forgot to take a screenshot of them and don't remember them clearly.
Kteehee
Wow I love this thread!!! So many that I didn't even think about when I saw it :P I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for them when I play now :3 (Think my favourite was the Powerpuff Girls reference) :P
Noekemi
Much simpler than some of the others, but I just got a quest titled "Where the Plog Grass Grows", I think the original reference comes from the book "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls (1961), but I'm not 100% sure. Scared
There's this one quest in the Saphire Basin that requires you to get 3 Dragon Orbs that resemble Dragonballs, and the quest giver's name is Shenlong.
Noekemi
Obviously they had to add this reference in there somewhere...
Quazz
Don't have a screen shot for this, but. One of the quests in the mirage reference "6 million dollar man movie". The one where Yahara's fan club is trying to make a new fan for Yahara. The quest npc says " We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better than it was. Better, stronger, faster". Victini
A daily in Hogshead Pastures called "The Hog days are over", maybe a reference to "Dogs days are over" from florence + the machine?

It is doubly funny because it is used by the Scoobie Doo Villain of the week and that quest is repeatable. And will be during the Valentines event (gives white rose). 10 hours ago, Quazz said: Don't have a screen shot for this, but. One of the quests in the mirage reference "6 million dollar man movie". Could have sworn this was a Robocop reference, but you are right. 6 Million Dollar Man. Also "we can rebuild it" is the actuall quest name. zgrssd
Some Daily Quest related ones: Lakeside Cache: The boss name Pokey and hte quest "That is what it is all about" are a reference to a song, the "Hokey Pokey" or something (not found by me) Plague Hollow: Daily Quest "Mighty Mite" could be a reference to "Mighty Mouse" (a Disney Superman parody) Adder's Nest: Duras has 7 Sisters. In other words, they are the Duras Sisters from Star Trek TNG. Also the questgiver makes a Indiana Jones reference - "Why does it have to be snakes?". (Not found by me). Drakglimpse: Nekuro Quotes Scoobie Doo Villains "If it weren't for those meddling...." (I was to late for that party).
SyntaxError768
The whole Windstrider achievement set is a Firefly reference. - Flight School Graduate: Reference to Wash's Flight School(Firefly merchandise). - Keep Flying: Reference to "Keep flying and stay Shiny"(Firefly merchandise). - Leaf on the Wind: Reference to Wash's catch phrase. - No Power In The Realms Can Stop Me: Reference to River's line; "No power in the 'Verse can stop me"(couldn't actually find a video for this one, so here's a wiki page) - You Can't Take The Sky From Me: Reference to the Firefly intro. I've already pointed out the last one, but just for posterity, I've posted it again.
BattleKat
I am not in my PC so i cant show the picture right now, but one of the Semi Boss's, or Tough Mobs in the second big purple instance, the one with the fire monkey at the end, there is a Kung Fu Master with the name Ken Shiro, and he is able to 2 hit or 3 hit kill you at that lvl, if you let him touch you of course..., i dont think i have to explain the reference since is pretty obvious for those who know him =P
