Weapons and Armor

Can someone please help me? All i have is the hongmoon weapon and I can only upgrade it with the little red stone. I'm currently doing shitty damage, I seem to be the only one. Am i supposed to buy a new weapon, upgrade it further? What do I do? I'm dying too much.

With what?

click the weapon and go to manage equipment, then you will see the upgrade menu.

It seems no one is looking at what I'm saying. With what do I upgrade it with? I don't have anything to upgrade it with.

You can also use other weapons to upgrade it. Doesn't matter what class weapon you use. You can get them easily by going to foshi pyres and farming the stalker jigarashi. He drops essences which you can use to spin the wheel there and get stalker weapons.

I only get soul shield packs from the wheel. Nothing else. :(
