Game Stuck At Splash Screen

Hello

 

I recently downloaded the Game Client, however when I launch the game, I reach this point and the game never launches from here:

 

I've tried reinstalling the NC game launcher, installing C++ files, however can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions?

Have the servers been down for a while? I was unable to get the game running last night either.

mine got stuck at the bit between the splash screen and the character select screen :(

 

i haven't seen any acknowledgement of the issue on the forums - so I guess no ETA on when it'll be back up :/
