Do you have an NVIDIA GPU? If you do you can record in .MP4 format using NVIDIA GeForce Experience ShadowPlay.

If you have an AMD GPU you can use AMD Gaming Evolved Client powered by Raptr.

I can second for the NVIDIA Geforce Experience. I have made my Blade & Soul videos with it. Very good and great quality. Takes no toll on your game, allowing you to play without lag and get crisp and quality footage.

You are then able to import those recordings straight into Sony Vegas or other editing programs you have!

Not trying to advertise. But you can check out on of my Blade & Soul videos for a reference if you like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCEAb4mgBAw

Hope this helps you with your question! :)

If you're running Windows 10, you can also hit Windows Key + G to open the built-in game bar and record using that. No additional programs necessary, though I'm not sure how it compares to dedicated third-party programs built for the task.
