Decent PvE Summoner skill builds?

I'm wondering if anyone has any decent PvE builds for the summoner class, the one i'm using is my own and obviously isn't too good if I'm asking for help~
I find soloing some dungeons fairly easy and some just impossible, but for other summoners they're all extremely easy for them D:
So if anyone could give any tips that'd be great! :D

First 3 points into Q, second branch, cat taunt. Next 3 in the cat skill at the very bottom of the list, no active button, second branch, cat hp/defense. From there, it doesn't really matter because all you have to do is send cat in and hit Q and it will taunt everything around it, take 90% reduced dmg and get healed when hit.

 

You can just faceroll your way through the rest of the game and play around with the rest of the skills as you please, as long as you have your cat tank you can just leave everything else unspent and still walk through all the rest with relative ease.

 

If you want to support your groups though, there are the passive aoe heals on 2 and F, the party-wide 4, and the ever popular just not standing in melee eating aoes while your cat taunts the boss and keeps it stationary in one direction while everyone else hits it from behind.

I'm having trouble understanding how you can get by with just taunt, it doesnt seem to work for soloing anything because the taunt wears off way too fast and I end up dying or just getting by :s

Taunt

The cat keeps taunting everything around it for the entire 8 seconds that it's in Crouching Tiger mode. If you make the cat do anything else, then it will instantly stop taunting. So if you time it right, 8 seconds of Crouching Tiger taunt and 12 seconds cool down means only 4 seconds for mobs to go after you before they get taunted again.

Please do not used that linked spec unless you are planning to PvP only. And even for that it is not very good.

Simple .. Taunt with your pet. Taunt last 8 sec with a 12 second cooldown. So taunt every time it is up. 

Purpose of this spec is to have high Crit chance. So tweak your soul shield to get your crit up as high as you can. I am sitting at a little over 2k crit chance and my soul shield is not yet maxed. It is very easy to get. 
With a high crit chance you can easily maintain your chi to spam Big sunflower(RMB) by animation canceling. Another words hit your right mouse button and right away hit your left mouse button. This will cause you to use both skills. Criting with LMB will give you two chi instead of the one normal. Also you want to time your AoEs because during those you basically get to spam the hell out of (RMB+LMB) combo with no worries of running out of chi.

You have X to heal you if you get in a bind. But it will steal a little health from your pet so use it wisely. Your Z will heal your pet for more health then it steals from you so it is very easy to keep him alive forever. And while he is in taunt he takes 90% reduced damage.  
You can easily spam 7k+ crits with this setup if you have the gear upgraded. 

 

This is just the simple version of how to play it. You learn the subtleties of what this build can do and it is the reason that summoners are so good at any PvE content. 

 

Soul Shield wise you should probably look at the 1,3,4,5 and 6 Dokumo crit set, with 2,7 and 8 of the moonwater PvP set. Both are super easy to get and when you full upgrade the set you will sit at 100% accuracy around 915 crit damage and 2.2k crit chance and about 25k health. Actually you can get much higher than that once you get your jewelry fully upgraded. Remember that piercing is worthless for a summoner because of our defense debuff. So focusing on crit allows us to keep our chi up and therefore spam Sunflower (RMB) as much as possible. 

 

I wont go into all the details of this build. You will have to figure some things out for yourself.

 

But overall you should find this a much stronger and easier to play build for a summoner.

You do realize that tree builder doesn't actually line up with the current skill tree right? Currently we need 4 points in rosethorn for what that tree says takes 3.

Thats why i posted how my skill tree looks like on eu server, only 3 points in rose.
