Never got chance to join a faction?

So I'm level 17 and am on the last part of Chapter 17: The Test of the Eight, which requires me to join/have joined either the Cerulean Order or the Crimson Legion, but I've never gotten an invitation from either and as much I can tell from some google searches that's how you join one. Hansu and Sansu were there for the main quest and their little RP bits but like I said, I never got the option to join either faction.. Am I missing something or did my character manage to glitch out and not receive the invitation?

You pick your faction by doing a blue quest in the first town where you also get your hongmoon weapon. You probably missed it.

So am I SoL? I've ran around Bamboo town for the last 20 minutes looking for either Sansu or Hansu and I can't find either of them -_-

Make sure you click and read the letter that comes with that quest. If you don't, you will never see either Sansu or Hansu.

I never got a letter and never got a quest :\ I'm quite literally at a road block because there's no way shape or form that I can tell to pick a faction right now.. There are no more blue quests from Bamboo Town to Jadestone, I've ran back and forth on foot twice now just to make sure >_<
