Severe skill lag is making this game completely unplayable

For starters my rig is pretty damn beefy.

MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990FX

GPU: Nvidya PNY 660ti

CPU: AMD Phenom @4.0GhZ 8-core

8gb RAM

800W PSU

Playing at capped 60fps with vsync with settings set to optimize combat

 

Yet I still have this GIANT AMOUNT OF SKILL LAG! Sometimes it gets so bad I can't even complete my 3 hit auto attack chain! I have no idea what's causing this since I can get a 70ms ping to their dallas servers yet I feel like I have a worse ping that what I did actually playing on the Taiwan servers WTF!!!!!!!

 

Please help me out guys! I sent in a ticket, but lord knows when that'll actually get solved.

I had this problem as well. Solution was quite simple, i just switch channel that i was on, and this type of lag didn't bother me later on. You can do that by pressing esc (in-game) and choosing the "change channel" function.

I had the same issue. The reason is your Asus mobo, or rather the asus gamer service which creates huge lag. You have to either uninstall it, or just stop the service manually. I was surprised about that, but probably it have some issues with game protection mechanism.

press ctrl+shift+esc, go to services tab, check for any asus service, turn them off (stop them). Dont remember now the exact name but you'll be fine. let me know if that helps.

i doubt thats it because i notice it as well and i dont even own a asus mobo!

DiBBz: it was the issue in my case, and as he have the asus mobo it is possible that he have related issue. Of course it might be something else, but I had like 2 seconds lag, and after turning it off it works buttery smooth.

It might not be asus only, check other services as well, like:  cFosSpeed, XFast LAN, Gigabyte Speed

In general, anything that suppose to help your network work better probably will create lag in bns.

I just got done looking for any of those services, yet nothing of that kind has shown up.  I'm still stuck in the water with this annoying problem.

Do you have Razer synapse or AMD Gaming Evolved running with bns? as those programs usually forces the program to use more of your ram and cpu than needed. i've had this problem before in game like lol, wow and cs.

Also turn of V-Sync as that usually is the cause to the lag. you don't need it at all.
Also i don't believe that you have capped 60 fps with those specs as i got somewhat close to 2x better than you and im often down at 40-50 fps times from times in world pve combat.

16gb ram

so I know i have more than enough to handle the game

I tried switching channels but thats not helping at all

The only service I could remotely find that has to do with gaming or network optimization were nvidya network and streaming services which I ended up disabling.  I'll also try playing without vsync and see if that improves.  But ya know... queue times

Okay so I disabled vsync and set my max framerate to 120 for good measure yet this horrid skill lag still persists. Doesn't matter if it's against a group of 10 monsters or a single enemy, the lag still persists and it's driving me up the wall! I really want to play this game, but the game as it is right now is virtually unplayable.

I'm having the same issue. Opened a ticket and the staff said to me that's because the Razer Synapse. Uninstalled it and the lag still bothers me.

Giving my complaints as well. Yesterday the 21st, game ran beautifully on the new server. I had no lag, no issues, it was perfect even through multiple logins. Today, on the same server, the game has progressed to being quite literally unplayable. I don't just have delay, I literally cannot move my character. After about 5 minutes, if I have left my login location, I will teleport back to it. I can't use any skill actions or talk to anybody, all other players are frozen in time, and I can't walk through any doors without getting stuck and eventually teleporting back. I also can't use the "change character" option, I have to quit the game. Best part? Chat works fine during all of this. I can still see the scrolling list of gold spammers and actively talk to people about my game being unplayable, to which none of them have any idea what I'm talking about.

 

I'm now convinced it's the servers. My computer is clean of every program everybody has talked about, and the problem persists. I even tried it on my laptop ON A DIFFERENT INTERNET CONNECTION and had THE EXACT SAME problem. Every post on the forums here and every post on reddit gets the same response of generic "check your this" or "check your that". People continue to have the problem with no solution. It has to be the servers, or else the code of the game itself is just incompatible with any computer made later than 2000.

 

I'm so angry because during that one day I played the game, it was AMAZING. But now I can do nothing except sit and watch as the game shits itself and NCSoft ignores our plights.

I'm having the same problem recently. It is driving me crazy now. The lag/delay makes it so hard for me to complete my combos. I'm using NVIDIA GTX 970. I just opened a ticket earlier today. Hopefully, the staff will response soon.

After the recent server maintenance, I must say the skill lag on my end has died down tremendously.  I still occasionally get an annoying spurt where it'll constantly happen, but as a whole the annoyance of skill lag has subsided quite a bit.  Hopefully it'll stay this way.
