Yavley, This is a thread For players to Post the names of Identified seller bots. This is in reference to this thread :

This thread is open to All servers and Players to name off the Bots, Gold Sellers, and Spammers offering Power leveling for Cash. Feel free to post. Thanks And Let's work together to solve this

I know there might be better uses for the team's time at this point, but I kind of wish they would send a GM about once an hour or so into the starting zones just to do some quick bans all the gold traders spamming chat at that moment. There might be more to it than I realize but it just seems much more efficient than someone sending in a report to someone that has to then review the report. You know, just cut out the middle-man.

 

I don't know about you, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would gladly do this with the payment being Premium status for non-GM characters. I would gladly stand there for an hour a day just to watch chat and ban them. You would only need 3 or 4 people per server to kind of take specific shifts, almost like a real job. The "money" you would lose for giving away this service to your psuedo-employees is far outweighed by the amount of people who would decide to sub due to how proactive you look trying to handle the situation. There's a lot of people trying to burn NCsoft at the stake for a "terrible launch". I know they're doing a lot to help the overall situation, but they don't really have the visual presence to try and quell the mob-mentality. People like to see results right in front of their eyes. If a GM were right there in the starting zone and picking off the gold spammers, that would go a long way to help with NCsoft's image for now. The trick is to find people who are reliable and won't just abuse it for GM privileges.

Heck, I am all for this. My and my roomates play everynight from about 11pm Chicago Time, to about now. @ am chicago time, SO I mean, If I was offered "Hey, We will make you premium as long as you spend at least an hour in the starting Region, Helping new players and Banning the Gold Bots and Farm bots," I would deffinately not turn that down, plus heck, I made a whole thread about telling the GM's who the bots are.

Yes and please send names/screenshots/server names when you see them here, too. SleepyChibitobi has been a huge help and we were able to do a lot of bans thanks to getting notified of the bots.

Ah you flatter me, Lol. For all the players, This thread is intended to report bots and the like so that this problem can be dealt with, I mean, You don't get help from a doctor, till you let the doctor know you need help, They can't ban, what they don't know in this case.

Bots/RMT characters are also now beginning to use the party finder system to automatically broadcast their messages in the party finder chat. Nobody really looks at that chat too much but it's annoying to see their "party" listed when looking for a group through the LFG dragon fire pillar things (can't remember the exact name).

I'm on server Master Hong and PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE BOTS THEY'RE COMING IN HOARDS AND JUST 50 ARE BLOCKABLE? IT'S A CRUEL JOKE! I came on this morning to play and i can't even use faction chat anymore. After posting this i plan to turn it off and never turn it back on. I started blocking a few and then my list was full so i removed most of them and then start blocking again and these gold sellers are relentless. I can't take much more! I blocked more AGAIN and it got full! These sellers keep coming in waves of spammers. PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU DO SOMETHING! I can't even block anymore and at this point it's just giving me a massive headache to look at faction chat. http://imgur.com/LCefKje

The actual problem is that the game is f2p, so that means they can easily create new accounts, + all the process of spamming is often automated. If you look in the faction chat, you have new waves of bots every ~3-5 minutes in batch of ~2x3 bots at the same times. meaning that you just can't block all of them as they change names (a few don't and stay longer with same account/char). So as long as the root problem is not solved, you can post more than 3000 names a day in the forum thread....

 

Without wanting to be rude, I'm not paid for that nor do I get anything from it losing so much time if I would report every bot I would cross ig/in chat as it's about 6 new bot per let's say 5 min, (more 3 but anyway) that makes about 72 per hour, that makes 1728 per day... so yeah, happy hunting....

(It's just incredible that those stuff still happens after all those years in the mmo industry where everyone knows the bot selling... isn't the game out since 3-4 years in other region?

Didn't the devs in those 3 years develop any kind of system against the bot ? why is it not implemented in the EU/NA game ?

I don't understand....

 

Where to see the spam: Zone chat, Faction chat (the most, making it just un-usable), dungeon search lobby at the dragon shrine (using the group description in the search list to advertise), cross-server lobby in the chat, and btw, you can't report anyone from chat in cross-server lobby it's greyed out  (need a fix), in whisper, in party finder chat (rejoins the dragon shrine stuff).

So to make it short, about everywhere where you can post something in chat/dungeon finder (only the party/combat log/dragon party/alliance (for how long when the content releases ?) are safe chats, makes sense I know...)
