Is there any point, to make money, outside of Soul Wardens and Merry Potters?

My and a friend are playing this game togehter, he naturally went for Merry Potter and Soul Warden, cause why wouldn't you? Best money makers and mostly used.

I went for Acquired Taste + Radiant Ring.

I went Acquired Taste because he will need Ceremonial Meals in order to craft his item for the quest. Not to mention, Radiant Ring is bugged, so I can't level with jewelry anyways. Forge Keepers make weapons it seems, for no reason whatsoever. You have a weapon from lvl 5 all the way to up end game. No need to craft any weapons. Repair tools? Can't see them being any use. Radiant Ring can give me gems which I can use to sell. But gems are a pain to find and leveling is horrible with it. Making it so expensive. Keys? So common place that you actually LOSE money if you try to buy the Primer from the Market to make it.

And from what I've heard, you can GRIND gems too from drops, right? If that's the case, then again, how useful is Radiant Ring anyways?

Someone explain this to me. It just seems like a horribly poor system right now.

Yea its kinda eh how it works, was confusing at first for me but got the hang of it. They should give forgekeepers transformation stones or radient ring transformation stones or maybe weapon XP crystal thingies for both forge and radiant. basically yea a few of em are obsolete atm i thin k they need to add more useful things to them/ give em something unique

Like, where do I even GET gems to craft them? I've gotten nothing so far, and it's a pain to level this craft. IT may make money later on, but it's impossible to level right now.

Basically what im doing is have the gatherers constantly working to level up teh guild and try to keep crafter busy as well. The items u get from the gathering guys or in case of the quartz u can buy off market or find em on map ( u need a pickaxe)

Hi guys, I love to craft, for unknown reasons, and I would love to hear more about it from players like yourselves. I haven't been introduced to crafting in game, so I know very little aside from B&S's blog. So bare with me as you read.

This is my second mmorpg where "guilds/companies" are used to gather the stuff for the players. The waiting time these groups take to prepare the crafting materials takes hours. It drives me crazy. In the other mmorpg this time duration was more than 2 hours long for only 10 mats which would give you 2 crafted items (the recipe required 5 each time). It's clear that it's designed this way to beat NCoins out of crafters through time and crafting space limits, and catalysts to boost speed. To be fair, I am not sure if all I mentioned is true for this game. Runescape is the best example I can give when it comes to describing a more preferred model for crafting.

You mentioned the mats being more expensive than the finished crafted products, right?  I understand the frustration there as well. It takes time and a lot of money to craft as it is, but when you try to auction the finished product, you find other players selling it for much cheaper than the cost. The crafters lose both ways, regardless of level of the crafted item. That was the situation in my last game. It was a headache. I hope it's better here. Crafting has a lot of potential, however recently new games try to simplify and disregard it to greater extensions. It pulls players in to another dimension of the game, rather than having players left with only daily dungeons near end game.

I've heard the main highlight of the game is pvp. Which I have no problem with, but I would still argue the crafting system still has potential. I would love to know what players from SEA servers have to say since they have more experience. I would hate to see this turn out to be what I experienced in my last mmorpg.

Question: can anyone please show me a screenshot of mining the rock shown on the map? I have the pick axe, I'm part of no guild. When I get to the map location, I see no function or unusual rock to mine.

In my opinion its completely normal to sell the finished product cheaper than the mats, people that do that are jusr trying to rush the profession level losing a bit of money (people will buy it instead of craft it so the crafter can keep leveling with just adding some more money).

As everyone says, it seems like merry potters and soul wardens are the only ways to make profit out of crafting, but dont forget the game was released 6 days ago, so i hope they will work on it. I chose alchemy (whatever it is called in this game) and earthseers, hoping the potion´s and charms price/need will raise once you reach the end-game.

Looking at my clan we have 28 members. Of those 28 members 22 went for the  "standard combo".

Merry Potters + Soul Wardens + Green Thumb + Tree Feller.

To be perfectly honest there is NO point in picking anything else right now since all the other professions have zero to add to the money game.

So now lets review shall we:

Forgekeepers : Make weapons + Repair kits. Well they seem to make weapon skins now so that might be nice. I don't think I am anywhere close to running out of repair kits this year.

Radiant Ring: Makes jewelry + gems + Keys. There are a moonwater dailies that can give keys and they can't actually craft jewelry right now. It seems to be bugged. And the gems are insanely expensive to build. Unless you really unlock every box you get of course you dont need anything.

Soul Warden: Soul shield upgrades + Transformation stones. Holy *cricket*. You need so many transformation stones. And you don't get nearly enough by doing the quest and surveys. Gotta love soul warden. Here guys. You can build an item everyone NEEDS.

Merry Potter: Jars + Pick axes + Refiner: We need jars and pickaxes for the special LIMITED resources. And you need specialist refiner to craft about anything useful. The Moonwater transformation stones needs a form of ultra refiner that you are better off trying to build yourself than buy it.

Acquired Taste: Dumplings. Yes they can also make XP food apparently but you need also special recipe for that. And who needs this at level 45-50 ? I am a chef and all I seem to be able to build is Dumplings. Culminating to 10 Dumplings in 1 at level 3. And yes expensive craft for just dumplings.

Silver Cauldron: Potions. Again I find tons of these during my questing. I may actually run out maybe in a few months so then I guess it may be worth it,

Earthseer: Charms + Retun tickets. I get so many unseal charms during my levelling and I only need to really unseal the break through materials. The return tickets are technically nice if you want to save a bit on Windriding. Now if only you could make them for free. Stuff like revive charms are expensive.

So no I don't really see the allure in anything else than Merry Potter and Soul Warden.
