FPS sinks on crowded regions...

Is this normal? I go down from 120fps to 30 on cities... I'm playing the game with everything maxed @1080p, but even when i put every possible setting on low, the FPS still below 40.... Bad optmization? Or working as inteded?

Currently on an i5 4690K, GTX 970SC+ @1500mhz and 16gb DDR3...

Probably a stress on your GPU. But it happens in every game that is crowded.
I would tweak some settings, if you prefer gameplay>quality display.

GPU is fine, and as i stated, i can drop everything to the lowest possible setting that the game still runs below 40FPS. Never had this large discrepancy in FPS before, seems odd. From 120fps to 30-40... then back to 120.... the FPS drop is huge

Sounds like bad opti to me.  Have you tried using the 'Hide Character' option from the menu?

Yeah, it didn't help... 40FPS even if i put everything on low, but when i go inside instances, 120FPS no matter what... oh well..

Have you tried the Alt+Enter (You press it at the same time) method?

 

Somehow the game (even Japan server which I played) is not using the true full screen.

 

So try that and watch FPS rise.

Hmm.. nope. Not at my side. I'm using similar spec but my fps never went below 60 /w vsync and never went below 100 without vsync. I'm streaming my game as well. Everything is at ultra with high quality setup on gc control panel as well.

 

Not bad optimization, just your side.

Do you guys realize that this game is a product from 2012? from that specs you posted you can max out everything but sadly and obviously bad optimization for this game. My FPS is 20 - 30 and not playable. I have no problem for other mmorpg games based on NA but this game the optimization sucks. A game from 2012 but runs so bad? Shame NCSoft.

Also in any game, never use "Auto optimization".  Even if it detects max config. It tends to be worse. The option is made for idiot (or non-techie in respectable manner).
